Sorry, but I'm a late commer, when is the launch?
Was there any ICO?
'Launch' is a vague term, IOTA is a work in progress, but the network has been live in intervals since mid-July. v 1.1 will be when we go on exchanges and open it to the world, but no date is set in stone yet. And yes ICO Noveber-December 2015. |

@CfB: Could you explain what are the improvement/optimization/whatever you are working on atm in order to have a really usable network and be ready for exchanges ?

There are no known syncing or slowness problems, if you have issues then they are related to your neighborhood, if you can't find good neighbors then you'll get an option to use webwallet. |

No. Yes. Yes, if you run Jetty and JRE locally then I can send you that script that checks balances. The service doesn't store the seed.Thanks for that answer CfB!! PM sent Well I've spent a couple of days trying to get the seed checking script to work on my local pc, just can't get it to work, but I have learnt a bit about webapps. A bit too far above my skill level, can't work out what to put in the web.xml to have the correct url for the script ... any tips? |

Just drop the files into WEB-INF/classes folder without any changes in web.xml. |

Just drop the files into WEB-INF/classes folder without any changes in web.xml. Thanks CfB, got it working now! My balance is correct too, shows my total IOTA for all addresses attached to my seed. Thanks |

If it goes to exchanges soon, I see 5 qualities making iota very very attractive for markets, and even dangerous for most altcoins :
- No blockchain
- No fees
- No scability problems
- Quantum resistant
- Multi billion and growing market (IoT)
Am i right ?
Can someone explain how Iota doesn't have scalability problems? I ran the client and it was generating/storing data on my computer. |

I know a lot of crypto's talk about pruning but I'd like to see it at protocol level to actually be considered a solution. Currently seems like Snapshotting is very manual, but I don't know much about Iota to be honest. |

Can't say about "easier", not planned for the final release. Okay, scalability solutions are probably on par with Ethereum in terms of what can be done. I'd remove that from the "5 qualities" list then. |
