I think it will be a close one between Jalen Green and Obi Toppin. According to the odds, Jalen Green is the favorite. In recent years, the ratings have been constantly criticized. We can watch such an eventful competition again. Small differences will determine the winner.
For three points contest my favorite is CJ McCollum. Statistics in regular matches are not so important. Whoever is on the day gets the trophy.

I really dislike the breaks in all the competitions, in all the sports i was talking. And this its not the exception, i like to see the show in the NBA all Stars but i want to keep playing the games of regular season also.
In other things Team Lebron in names its over the Team Durant by far.

I really dislike the breaks in all the competitions, in all the sports i was talking. And this its not the exception, i like to see the show in the NBA all Stars but i want to keep playing the games of regular season also.
In other things Team Lebron in names its over the Team Durant by far.

 I hate the new system in the all-star game and yet everyone seems to be enjoying it so I just go along with it. The 12 minute 4 quarters just like a regular game was a great thing and I loved it. In fact, I loved it aaaaall the way back when players played with their teams jerseys instead of a team as well. For the past few years everything changed so much, from no more east vs west to captains picking to weird clock situation and many other silly stuff. It was already good, maybe it was "boring" but that was mainly due to players not caring about it, back in the day players cared about it and tried to win, nowadays you have Curry laying down on the floor as a joke when he sees Giannis coming, and doing it as "entertainment" and instead making it more boring.

Same here, for me the old format is better as there's no draft happening, it's just simply the east vs the west. I don't know why they changed it, maybe because the West are dominating in the past, but now, the East already have strong teams so it's good to bring back the old format.

There's history, that's why. Back and shoulder and leg injuries. Then, big men are prone to injuries and most of the time it becomes a career-ender if it doesn't heal at full scale. Thankfully, there will be a week of rest because of the All Star but it would not suffice for his come back.
Betting against them after the break would be the wisest decision if ever they are up against strong teams. Because they had been winning with Davis around but not when he is out. They are in the 9th seed but all teams behind them are not that strong so I am sure they will enter play-in tournament which is their only chance for reaching the playoffs.

It will be expected if the Lakers without Davis have another series of defeats after the All-Star weekend since LeBron can't rely on Westbrook's help in every match. Besides, the difference in the number of wins between 9th and 12th place is quite small. So I wouldn't rule out the possibility that the Lakers won't be able to enter the play-in tournament.

That's because the competitive spirit was gone, that's why they changed the format. Now they are fighting over who will get the additional funds for an organization that they picked and it's a good thing instead of just playing and making people pay for tickets and pay per view.

The Slam Dunk winner was unexpected for me but it's not that entertaining so it's just okay.
3 point shoot-out was shocking though as KAT wins it. He is happy (Vegas is wrong) and I bet the big men shooting threes of the league are proud now.

The real fun day will be today. My favorite and best-watching events for years are on the 2nd day. I hope the dunk contest goes well, the player who deserves it wins. Last years we didn't see good dunks enough

Yeah, hopefully we will see a great competition in the slam dunk as this is one of the most anticipated because it bring backs memories of Michael Jordan and Vince Carter and other great dunkers in the NBA's history. My favorite for this year is Jalen Green and hopefully he won't disappoint his fans or others could give us something that we haven't seen before.

Unfortunately, we could not watch a very good competition, in fact it was one of the worst competitions we have watched in recent years. I agree, just a so-so slam dunk contest, nothing to take note of.

But as I have said previously in the other thread, KAT winning the 3 point contest is unexpected, no one really thought that a big man can win this contest. But I guess he did it with fashion, his stroke and I would say deserved to be the winner this year.

You'll never know when your luck will come, but KAT really has a decent chance because he is a good shooter. Maybe he was just underestimated because he is a big man and usually the great shooters are the guards or smaller players as they have better control, like Curry of course, so this is a big change to the NBA, it only prove that even big man can also be a great 3 point shooter.

Well the NBA All-Star competition could be done at the end of the season too if the NBA and NBPA really wanted it. This helps remove the injury concern of some players when they join events while the season is ongoing.

Thanks, I just love the feeling because I was not so confident but I believe that KAT has a chance of winning, as you can see on the odds, it's x12, the chance is very low if we based on the odds alone, but when you are lucky, anything is possible. lol

I briefly watched the highlights, and it looks like the participants had a lot of failed attempts, and almost all the dunks were of the same type. I mean, a windmill dunk or a between the legs dunk don't surprise fans anymore. As a result, none of the participants received 50 points from the judges.

No gimmicks at all, unlike in the past where they use some props to really entertain the fans. I remember the best dunk contest was when Dwight Howard and Blake Griffin won on a different season, after that, it's okay but not so impressive.

I hope they'll be able to read the observation of the fans, NBA all-star is supposed to be fun and exciting, so if the fans are not satisfied they should make an improvement as it only happens once a year and people are waiting for that moment to come.

Guess he is not even in the top favorites, but he should his best to try to entertain the crowd, it's just that among the participants he has the best dunks.

I like to see them in the playoffs, it would be an intense competition whoever team they'll be facing if in case they will manage to win and face the team who's waiting for them.

The Los Angeles Lakers might have changed their gameplay once able to successfully earn a slot in the playoffs. Maybe their bad games this season will be changed into good ones in a series match.

Unfortunately, they have to face the top teams in the first round of the playoffs.

I might put a bet on them to win on their first-round playoffs regardless of what team they will face. I'm expecting at least over @5-7 odds to win the series.

It's mid season already, I dont think the Lakers have a lot of time for adjustment. If they do make adjustments, It might not be enough for the to climb up to top 5. Especially now that AD has been injured again. LeBron cannot carry a team like he used to before. Westbrook is kinda inconsistent (thought he had a couple of good games now since he was benched in the 4th quarter against the Bucks)
Most probably they either end up in the play in tournament, 8th seed or 7 seed. This something the Lakers should avoid in the playoffs but it seems like they're heading on that way anyway.

It's gone because of social media and lots of street dunkers uploading their videos that make the dunks in the NBA looks childish. Though you cannot compare the two because those dunks on the streets took many attempts to be perfected but they uploaded their perfect dunks which makes the NBA slamdunk contest uninteresting to watch. nevertheless, the selected players have done their best this year, and look like they gonna changed the mechanics this year with this result.
