It makes no sense because it was a question asked by a reporter and GM just responded, if someone asks the GM "will you supermax Giannis" then he obviously will say "yes" and move on, that is not something weird or even unexpected, like we all knew that Giannis was getting the supermax, anything other than that would have been weird to begin with, dude is a MVP and such a great guy personally as well and tries to improve himself all the time, why wouldn't bucks sign him to supermax.

NBA league office just went too overboard with this, league is doing great all of its own without any need from the league office so sometimes they do these kinds of stuff to remind people that league office is still there and can do stuff, if they just handled the business end of things and shut up, league would be fine for another 50+ years without their help and that is their problem, they want to stay relevant.

You might be right about paul and harden not being a good combination there is a reason for that.  Chris is a pure point guard and is best paired with someone who can play off the ball like klay Thompson can.  Harden needed the ball all the time which negates Paul's PGA creativity.  Westbrook's is a little bit just like harden so we'll see.

Harden will be a better point guard that Westbrook although westrbrook have almost triple double in this previous team but we know he is stat padding.
This is hard combination to mend actually but the Rockets allowing this to happen, they should see something we don't see.

.....and Jeremy line was never a star.  He had 15 minutes of fame with New York but that was it.

That wasn't just one game, he was able to do that in many games with NYC while their star player was injured but when Melo came back, Lin was not anymore given a chance.

I dont think Westbrook's stat pads, he was forced to he that aggressive player on okc based on the style of play.  Will be interesting to see how him and harden change.

And lin was not given a chance again to be the man because he just isnt that good.  Is is alright in terms of role Ayers but he is/was never near star level.  He had a good couple of games on a very bad team.

The NBA has just fined the Bucks $50K for disclosing their plans of signing Antetokounmpo to a supermax contract next summer that worth $253.8 million, it would be a history in the NBA.

If that contract would push through, how many years would that be?

Is Giannis deserve that much?

What a dumb fine made by NBA again, I really don't get the point on why they would give a fine on plan for a player they already have. It's like just saying their plans for the future for their own players I don't see how they violated anything especially when it is still the off season and Giannis is already half way done to his contract. I believe I have seen similar news about opinions from the GMs and the owners but I didn't see any reports of a fine that followed after making the comment. I don't know if this is a new rule or they really have favorites within the NBA.

I will assume the supermax contract should not over a 5-year deal. I remember GSW's Steph Curry is currently on a supermax contract. Never heard of 6 or more or maybe I just missed it. Just someone corrects me here if I'm wrong but I'm sure there's no direct 6-year deal supermax contract up to date. It should be an extension.

Just this off-season, Damian Lillard sign a supermax contract too but for a 4-year deal. So maybe minimum 4 but not more than 5? lol.

Is Giannis deserve that much?

Only Milwaukee Bucks can answer that.

Although Giannis already said that he will loyal to the team, maybe Bucks just want to make sure that no teams can lure him out.

Yes 5 years is the max that contract can be made for, contracts be as short as 10 days, not that any superstar will go on a 10 day contract and will demand a max year contract but it is possible.

As far as what Giannis should get as a contract, he would get offered the max by every single team who has the cap space available to add him to their team, hands down no question about that.

The fine is just a small amount, so maybe its just a small violation of whatever rules they have in the organization.
I'm guessing that a team can say that they will again sign Giannis but they could not disclose the amount that early as there's a big effect to the teams that are planning to go after Giannis or maybe they could make an early plan for whatever their puprose on the team as they would already know the possible salary cap space of the Bucks but its not really a serious offense since like I said the fine is just a small amount.

Looks like we can't see Carmelo Anthony now this upcoming season.

Brooklyn Nets is the closest team on the rumor list that might sign Melo but instead, they sign other players despite the push from Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, and the other Nets.

It's almost a game time next week (Pre-Season) games and I doubt any trading movement "involving him" will happen once the season starts on 10/23. Majority of all teams are done now finalizing their lineup.

There are no teams left now on the rumor list that might sign Melo even for low chances.

So this we can say that Melo's career in the NBA is over?
He will be remembered of course, its just that his style and his personality is not attractive to any team, they still see him as an NBA star that wants to have a big role in a team that he wants to play, and for a player like Melo, it's hard to give up his ego or his pride so that might cause trouble to the team, maybe that's the reason why they are getting rid of him even at a minimum contract.

Agree here. Every team surely will offer a max contract to Giannis once he became available at free agency.

About the recent minor penalty to the Bucks, it's prohibited to talk about contract price or value or make an advance announcement about it to a player that is currently on contract. I remember someone got the same penalty before. Can't remember it.

There is still a chance, however, looking at the current situation for him, it's really not looking good.

If ever no one signs him this season, although I still believed some team will open their doors for him, he can make a come back the next season.

Every team knows he can still play. But as I mentioned, there's another reason why things turned out like this for him.

Do you guys think theres something wrong with Melos gameplay? I mean he can still play and make an impact offensively in the 2nd squad. He could still be a 15ppg. What I have in mind why Melo struggles to sign a contract to any team, is his attitude (Im not sure about it though), his "superstar" attitude.

I dont think it's his attitude that is stopping people from signing him.  Melo is not a scheme player, he is an isolationist player.  When in his prime it was fine but to be an older isolationist player doesnt work well at high levels of competition.  I like melo hopefully he gets a shot on a team he deserves it

With the NBA management handing out penalties to teams for tampering, there maybe some teams like the Nets who wants to stay quiet while a negotiation is ongoing with Melo. Who knows? I do hope he was able to impress some teams and get a deal before the new season starts.

Still hoping for him to be signed up from any teams who will trust him to play back, Melo needs someone who will manage both his attitude and how he can still play the game. There's a lot of people who wanted to see how he changed up and how he will give something interesting with the entire season that he will going to play. Whoever team if there's someone that still interested, it's gonna be a good advertising for the franchise.

There are no teams left now on the rumor list that might sign Melo even for low chances.

True, yeah I didnt noticed that at first, maybe because I wasnt a fan? Lol. He could still create a space to score a jumper coz thats where he excels the most.
I brought the attitude issue because, as I remembered there was an issue about him not wanting to be in the 2nd squad, instead he wants to be in the starting line up consistently.

Out of those mentioned, my money would be on Myles Turner. I watched Pacers a lot last season due the  fact that my countryman Bogdanovic played for them, and i really liked Turner. Great defensive player, excellent rim protector and it is a shame that he doesn't get more minutes, but then again Sabonis is also good and verstaile player. Pacers were fun to watch last season, they played nice team basketball despite loosing their main player Oladipo early in the season, and if he manages to keep healthy this season, Pacers could definitely have deep playoff run. But to be considered contenders they need 1 more quality  perimeter player, and i don't see how they can get one without trading Turner or Sabonis. Hard choice..

He still have a chance.
Since he is a free agent there an exemption for them and also from the G-League.

I am sad though that it will not be a contract for a full year. But when given a chance, I bet he should be showcasing everything he got.

On the other news.
Dwight Howard was recently interviewed and told this.

Quote
“I hated Draymond. I’m like, ‘This dude is a**.’ But I sat back this year and really watched everything he did. I was really impressed.”@DwightHoward on @Money23Green

Does it matter? Draymond doesnt need this kind of statement. Grin

There's a lot of people wanted to see him play more seasons but it seems franchise owner isn't interested. Maybe try lowering his pride and offer a bargain salary will do. The problem with Melo is his attitude and his playing style is old school. Maybe addition to that is, they can't see his eagerness or thirst in ring or atleast some full effort to lift the team. He just wanted to play and earned money. Sorry but that's what i'm seeing. Unlike with D. Rose, even with his condition the eagerness is still there.

Miami doesn't have a young roster that could fit OKC's rebuilding in my opinion. Plus their young players are tie with huge salaries as well so I don't know how Miami can get away with that one. And if ever they do trade, will Butler and Paul click? I mean two players with large ego, we have seen it didn't last in Houston with Harden and Paul.

I think the problem really was James, he wants t lead the team when he is not clutch as Paul, IIRC, Lin also played with the Rockets and at that time, Lin was already considered as a star but they don't blend well, therefore I think that Harden does not want a star player to play with him.

I still remember Harden's interview after they lost to GSW and he says he knows where the problem is. And I think it's clear now that Paul is, that is according to him, that's why Paul was booted out of Houston.

Now that Harden is with WB, let's see if I'm wrong, I'm really confident I am not.
WB and Harden I think is not going to build a great chemistry.

No worries mate, we have a nice discussions about that months ago when we hear that the two will team up in Houston. I'm on the side that it won't prosper as the two are ball hog.
