I will assume the supermax contract should not over a 5-year deal. I remember GSW's Steph Curry is currently on a supermax contract. Never heard of 6 or more or maybe I just missed it. Just someone corrects me here if I'm wrong but I'm sure there's no direct 6-year deal supermax contract up to date. It should be an extension.
I think there is no minimum on supermax deals if I am not wrong. I could be but it could be 1 year supermax deal, but the definitely known part is 4 years max because there is no 5 year anymore, not on supermax but any contracts. You can definitely have extensions, if a player is on supermax and at the end of the deal doesn't qualify, you just extend his supermax another year or two and he basically gets 5-6 years of supermax deal. However, currently I think there are rarely any players that deserves that type of 6 year supermax deals, sure we can all count at least 10 players but there is 30 teams so not all teams have supermax worthy guys, specially not 6 years. Even the best players become good at around 26 or so at the youngest and when you give them 6 years that makes them 32, barring injuries they probably will be still good at 32 but that is a risk you take, over 30 is always a risky period riddled with injuries.

I agree, it's not so much about ball hog, it's a type of ay. Some people can only play with the ball in their hands and others do better off the ball, it's why steph and klay work so well. Harden and Westbrook's together is a hail mary by their management. Without Westbrook they know they couldnt compete so they had to do something just dont know if this was the wisest move
I have the same bad imagination by now. Is that really the wisest move? Are there no options left? A ball hog to a ball hog? The Rockets management is really giving Mike D'Antoni a headache. Now, he needs to make a play for the two and pray that they will not be stealing each other balls when in the game. For us it looks like a stupid decision by the management, but I know these players are professional and they will always play based on the game plan. They cannot dictate their own well here, they are paid really high to not follow the coach, this coming season is gonna be their first season together, so they have to prove to the management and to the people that they can play together to give success to the Rockets that has failed many times against the Warriors. Yeah. Somehow it pumped me up and want to see the first game of the Rockets this coming October. I just cannot see the chemistry and also the give and take for the two. Some analyst say, Harden should pass the fire to Westbrook. Why? Because Westbrook doesnt have the catch and shoot thing unlike Melo. Some say the other way around. But, what will Westbrook do while Harden is dribbling the ball 1000 times per play.

1. LA Clippers 2. LA Lakers 3. Golden State Warriors 4. Philadelphia 76ers 5. Milwaukee Bucks 6. Utah Jazz 7. Houston Rockets
I have no real problems with the other six. Remove the Jazz and replace them with the Nuggets. What the heck is the writer of the article thinking when he said the Nuggets were overachievers last season? I like Donovan Mitchel and Mike Conley but the guys from Denver are still superior as a team. It's quite strange to see the Spurs not getting picked as a contender.

I don't like Jazz too, they are not consistent, but with conley and Bojan Bogdanovic being in the team now, I think this will be a different Jazz. They have a good point guard now who brings success on the Memphis with Gasol and Zach Randolph, now he brings his talent to the Jazz which is also a defensive team, I think they really have a shot this coming season.

Yeah, it is strange not to see Spurs on the list, considering they were the most consistent NBA team in the last 20 years or so.

Last season was a bit unexpected for me as i still believed they're a decent contender in the west. Give this team a chance to jell and they'll be back in the thick of contention in the west, trust pop yo make sure of that. Curious how Kawhi and PG's arrival in LA pushed the team to be the top contender for the title. It's still anybodys pick if you're rooting for a western team.

Spurs not rebuilding IMO, they only traded a few players to get DeRozan which is an all star player as well. If DeRozan would improve this season, Spurs might become a great contender in the West, its good to put some bet on this team as until now its still undervalued.

Do you agree that nets are not part of this ranking,
As much as I want to disagree, we can't hide the fact that Nets being a champion next season only have a slim chance. We have seen Kyrie in a much dominant team last season but their team just got swept by the Bucks last playoffs (I considered it as a sweep although Celtics got the Game 1). Celtics is the favorites to win in the Eastern Conference last season. Maybe on 2020-21 season, people can put a shot at Nets to win a championship once Durant is 100% healthy and if they did some roster overhaul catching some good role players. But take note that other teams surely will make some move too.

Demar is that kind of player whom we all know that's good but not that good. Demar played in Toronto for almost a decade and couldn't make it to the league finals. And what Kawhi did? He went to Toronto and win the championship in his first year with Raptors. That's a slight difference between an All-Star-calibre player and a franchise player. Demar is still a really great player though, but maybe he's not a championship-kind of player.

We cannot make that kind of comparison, there are a lot factors that makes the journey of Torontol easier in the last season. First, Lebron transferred to the west, 2nd they acquired Gasol, and 3rd they face a GSW's team which are not fully healthy, if Durant and Klay played it would be a different story.

ROcket's chance is slim and it depends on how Harden and Westbrook would jell. If the output is positive on the first ten games of the Rockets then that list would change, Rockets would be next to the Lakers IMO.

It's most likely accurate to make clippers the top one to take the championship this coming season since they have Kawhi. But considering this would change one injury took place to key players along this 82 games to be played by each team. So anything can happen as the matches goes by.

Same thing could happen with other teams, but let's not hope for any injuries here, the game would be fun and exciting if all the important players are healthy and playing. We don't want to hear the same scenario like the on the result of Warriors vs Raptors outcome, people would always say that Toronto is just lucky to win because Klay and Durant were injured.

Milwaukee should be number 4 though in my opinion, they still have the reigning MVP and they could definitely improved a lot this year. Houston still depends on those two, Westbrook and Harden, if they started to blend early, they could be contenders as well.

He's playing great and now being acknowledged as one of the faces of this league. KD's stardom is still at his prime, the dedication and dominance from his co-players is being acknowledged. Height will not interfere if the player is effective doing his job and excelling from the other players around this league.

Putting Lakers that high eh? Are we not forgetting that most starters in this team will be playing with each other for the first time? Same case with Clippers but Kahwi and George can easily blend in. Dark horses for next season are Nuggets, Blazers, and maybe Nets.

Don't forget that Lebron although he failed last season he is still the king Jame we know. Once they will blend effectively the Lakers might dominate the West, for me Davis and Lebron is a better combo that Kawhi and Paul George or WB and Harden.
