we can not say for sure if Victor Wembanyama will be just like Chet Holmgren I really don't want to speculate something like that but we can not control the situation if a player would be injured for a couple of months then it is likely because they really got injured but we can not say that Victor Wembanyama will be like Holmgrem, that will be unfair with Victor Wembanyama if we already assume like that I say let Wembayama do his thing 1st, before speculating something,

We don't wish for something bad to happen to a player, but considering what we have witnessed in the past, we cannot erase the worries that the same thing could happen again. So there is high expectations from him, hopefully he can come in healthy and then before we can witness if he will live to the hype. Although we have seen him play, NBA is very different though. 82 gruelling games and then the physically, so for me Victor needs at least gain some muscle, perhaps a Giannis like transformation to be able to stay in the league for a very long time.

The NBA is quite different from the leagues he has played in, so we can't say for sure if he will find the NBA easier than his previous league. Don't take it wrong, it's not meant to underestimate them but knowing how experienced coach Pop is, this kid will surely learn a lot from him especially now that he will start his rookie season when the next season will commence and we know how important this season is to the newly drafted players.

Wemby is truly the greatest prospect on this draft and you might also be right that he could be next to Lebron. But we don't know yet what's gonna be the run of his career until we see him play. There is no doubt that the Spurs have secured him already and I'm excited to see who's gonna picked regardless of the no. they'll get and on what round they'll be picked. So after the easy NBA finals that we've watched, this is always the next big thing NBA fans are waiting for.

I think Wemby is going to be a bust. He’s just too tall and too young to have the strength he needs to play in the NBA. I think he’s likely to get injured long before he’s established the type of body he will need to compete in the key. I think he’s going to be bullied pretty badly and get hurt. Likely he won’t see much playing time for a while as a result.

We'll see that but I guess the Spurs have already got plans for that so that he'll get some muscles and buff for his body. It can still be a working in progress but it seems that everyone is hyped on him. We know that everything's gonna be changed when he's already stepped into the league.

Wemby going to Spurs was a lot more like 2003 Lebron deal, he was from Akron Ohio, and he was picked by Cavs at the first place, so it made sense in that regard and a lot of people questioned if it was a bribery deal or not, I mean him being from Cleveland and going there does feel like it was a match made in heaven.

I'm skeptical of all nba players over 7 foot.  The rigors and athleticism requires hard cuts and a low center of balance.  Too easy to get injured.  There have certainly been successful 7 footers but 7 foot 5 I just think the same way.  He might be a great talent but if longevity isn't in the cards then it's not worth the hype.  I am willing to admit I was wrong 15 years from now but that just seems too tall to stay on the court for any length of time.

Seriously, are you still considering placing a bet on the first pick odds, which are only 1.01? I believe that may not be profitable unless you wager a significant amount. While it's evident that Wemby is going to be the number 1 pick with such odds, the question remains: is it worth placing a bet?

It's a sure win, why not? It's worth it if you are placing high numbers.  And I am not going to waste money putting Scoot in the first pick, that's suicide.

Miller might be the player they need but Scoot Henderson has SO MUCH upside, I think they will take him anyway.
Of course it doesn't make sense since they have Melo and everything but if there wasn't Wemby, Scoot would be the clear frontrunner for the 1st pick, he ist just so talented.

Maybe they draft him and then get him on the market. A lot of teams will be interested in him. Maybe they even trade the pick, who knows. In the NBA anything can happen. A lot of teams are trying to climb up the draft latter so there might be some serious movement around draft picks real soon.

Yeah, there's that rumor that Charlotte could also get Scoot Henderson if they want to and pair him with LaMelo, or like you said, put him in the market for a trade. I just don't know if that is allowable after the drafts. I think it is. When you are that tall and can shoot whenever you want from wherever you want, not that many defenders can stop you. Hence, the best thing to do would be focusing on other skills at that point. He is not that great defensively, he certainly can't body anyone up, he is too skinny to be an inside defender, he can chase blocks if he wants to, but if anyone posts him up, he is not going to be able to stop them. This doesn't have to include gaining weight, Durant is still skinny, but he learned how to guard the post perfectly, he can do the same, whatever he does.

I also heard that words when people are hyped about Chet Holmgren last year. What happened to him? Summer league he got injured, and didn't play the whole season.
I'm not saying that Wembanyama will be the same as Holmgren because obviously they are different, but their body frames are almost the same.

He can dribble? Yes. He can shoot? Yes. The question is his health all throughout the whole season. Like you said, he is skinny to be a center, so if you're Coach Pop, where will you put him then? His trainer don't want to add weight on him as well because it might affect his playstyle like he said in one interview. I like the hype because it's what always the NBA is doing days or months before the draft night, but I don't expect too much about Wembanyama TBH.

His health is my main concern. How can he defend the paint if he's that skinny, and if they don't want him to be in the Center position then where? Point guard? Shooting Guard? Most probably he will be in the Center position, and with that body frame, I don't think that he can put a body on players like Embiid, or Giannis etc.

He might be a different cut though, so let's give the kid the benefit of the doubt for now. Yes, we have seen 7'2++ in the NBA some of them play good, some of them was forgotten.

But just like the rest of you, this kid needs to gain weight, slowly, doesn't have to be like a year, but his trainer should really now how to build his body to be able to play the physical and hard grind of the NBA. And he is lucky if the Spurs are going to draft them, as they have history of developing players like Kawhi and others in the early 2000's. So definitely they have the right program for Vic.

Yes, we will have to see, but for sure whoever teams drafted him, they will have to look at his body and how they are going to improved him. If he wanted to be like Durant, then maybe just enough in his lower body and some in his chest. And it should be legal and natural method, although we haven't hard any PED scandal in the NBA.

He is tall but doesn't play center per se, so that will be another big adjustment for him. So let's see how it goes, we don't have to see a rookie that is going to be bust and as hype as Vic today.
