I’m seeing reports that Blake Griffin is considering retirement.

If Griffin ends his career in the NBA, it would be an expected decision, as he's already too far away from his prime based on his stats from last season. However, as far as I know, the Celtics are still interested in re-signing him for one more season. So, I think Griffin should take advantage of this opportunity to earn at least a couple more million dollars.

Yeah, why not grab that opportunity for at least a year and see how it goes for him. Still added bonus for him even if he is not given enough time, maybe his presence as a veteran or a reliever for the PF to sometimes Center might be good enough for him.
Paul is also playing on a championship contender team, so if their teams are good enough to make it to the NBA Finals, one of them will certainly win their first championship. Griffin played 13 MPG last season with the Celtics, but his output was very low with only 4.1 points, and what's notable is his rebounding is not good.

Not sure though if Clippers will hang up his jersey when he retires, but man when we see him during his prime with the Lob City with CP3 anchoring everything, it's so mesmerizing. And the poster dunks he did as well with the big man that time.
They should because he played with the team for 9 seasons, averaging 20+ points per game. Also, the Clippers were popular during that time because of their high-flying offense; CP3 and he formed a great tandem together.

He played with the Detroit Pistons after the Clippers, and his production was still good, but he was really well known when he was with the Clippers.

I’m seeing reports that Blake Griffin is considering retirement. I thought the last time I saw his name in the news he was working out with the Golden State Warriors to maybe team back up with CP3 for a little bit of Lob City reunion in the Bay. I guess Kerr is deciding that these old guys can’t help the Warriors anymore.

Yes, doesn't make sense that the Warriors are getting a old version of Blake Griffin, it won't help them just like what they saw on Dwight Howard. As for the Celtics, well maybe they think they have value of getting Blake but if he gets injured then what's the used of him?

Could be better if he will retire already. He has one heck of a career during his prime years with the Clippers. But he is also a case wherein a injury can ruin someone's career. He was a high flyer during his prime and one of the best dunkers we have seen, he is very athletic when he started his career. Unfortunately, it was just pure show during the Clippers with him and CP3 and a prime DJordan. Wasn't enough to be in the finals in the West.

There's also another team that resurfaces in the news and is willing to take Jrue Holiday, it was the Bulls. I think it make sense since Ball is down again this season and they need a solid guard and the experience of Jrue as a NBA champion is valuable to the Bulls.

So let's see who it pan out for Holiday, there are a lot of teams really interested to get him. And even Giannis says that Jrue will be his brother forever as he is very instrumental of bringing the ring in the Giannis era in the Milwaukee Bucks.

What the Chicago Bulls can offer is a big problem.
Trail Blazers had the hard time to trade Lillard because they became picky, what more with Jrue Holiday who is known to be a good point guard both offensively and especially defensively. But they must trade someone because their roster is filled with guards now.
I will be shocked if Zach LaVine will be their offer because that will hurt their roster a lot. The Bulls are given a $10 million addition in their salary cap by the NBA because of Lonzo Ball's absence, they could use that in a better way than risking one of their superstars.

Bad start for the Golden State Warriors.

It didn't take long for an injury to surface, as Draymond Green recently suffered a left ankle sprain during a pickup game, as first reported by Jason Dumas of KRON4 and later confirmed by Green to Andscape's Marc J. Spears. Green said that he expects to miss at least a month with the injury, adding that he "dodged a bullet" and is pleased by the way his ankle progressing
https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/draymond-green-injury-update-warriors-forward-expects-to-miss-at-least-a-month-after-suffering-sprained-ankle/
We might see CP3, Klay Thompson, Steph Curry, Wiggins, and Looney playing together in long minutes. I don't know how they can defend at that line-up but offensively, it's one heck of a scary line-up if they attack and get the momentum.

To many lapses on Warriors team and for sure the lacking of height will be there weakness and for this they will be taken advantage by other teams. To many question on their current roster if they could able to go to playoffs since to many teams already know how to counter the small ball line up build up by Warriors.

That's the reason why Griffin consider to retire since he already feels that his numbers are declining so its good to decide that way rather than been rot in bench so that he can still get a decent retirement compare if he still decide to play where maybe he's retirement might get ignored by fans or the teams he played through out of his career.

He will always be remembered as one of the great dunkers in NBA history because of those explosive dunks and posterizers he made during his prime and to consider retiring this year is not a bad idea. if only injury hadn't struck him in his early NBA career, he could become a threat and probably brought the Clippers to the NBA finals and competed for the championship but they were always left behind and lost in the NBA playoffs even with CP3 with them. nevertheless, if he is still healthy this season, he could be a big help for Celtics but I guess that's not the case anymore.

They know their weakness that's why they sign new players just recently.

The Warriors have signed free agents Rudy Gay, Rodney McGruder, Donovan Williams, Kendric Davis, Javan Johnson and Jayce Johnson ahead of training camp, the team announced on Thursday (via Twitter).

That's the reason why Griffin consider to retire since he already feels that his numbers are declining so its good to decide that way rather than been rot in bench so that he can still get a decent retirement compare if he still decide to play where maybe he's retirement might get ignored by fans or the teams he played through out of his career.

If he wants to be a champion, then I guess it's not bad if he would accept a small contract and help the Celtics in any way. Veterans could help the team, especially Griffin, who has been in the playoffs so many times already. Just look at what the Heat did with Udonis Haslem; though he isn't playing much, he was still kept by the team because he can help motivate the players.

He is 34 years old already. And judging by the style that he plays, I think it is easy for him to actually get injured. The thing is, if he does not get injured, he can definitely provide good value to the team still at this age. But if he does get injured, it is not going to be helpful for the team at all. If he is injured, there is literally no use of him. But that's the thing. If he can stay healthy, he will be helpful. And I hope he will stay healthy. At least the team is definitely going to hope that he will not get injured.

Comes the part about what happens if he does stay healthy and out of injury. I think he will be able to contribute to the team pretty decently. Of course, no one is going to expect him to perform as he did in his prime.

Wow Boston just landed jrue holiday for a couple picks and so.e bench pieces (I like Robert Williams a lot though).  That's a great pick up from Boston.  Now I need to see the Bucks and Boston play, those games will be fun to watch.

Low key Portland is stacking 2028-20230 first round picks.  If these kids end up good and Blazers are a top team in the west by the end of the decade they are gonna have some serious draft capital to play with.  Great move all around.

Boston management just plain knows what they’re doing when it comes to making trades and signing players. Other than the Gordon Hayward and Kyrie Irving disasters, their record has been phenomenal. This deal puts them back up with the top tier teams in the East. A great pickup for them and a nice side effect to the Lillard trade.

Yeah, they lost Marcus Smart and Rob Williams, but they were able to get Jrue and then KP. So they are still in the top tier of the Eastern conference together with the Bucks. So it's going to be a good fight for the top spot in the East and it will be amazing to see this two fighting it out.

So great move and hopefully it will translate to something like the Celtics rejuvenated this season even if they lost their lead in Marcus Smart. It's just funny though that Miami, the first team that Dame wanted to play has end up nothing. But they have stack up future picks and so as what we have thought, they are in the rebuilding phase for the next 3-5 years.

Clippers just don't impress me with Kawhi and Leonard always sitting out or injured. Yes, the new rule should change that up a little, but then you still have Westbrook who can play good but has a lot of bad moments.

You should look up the odds on the Spurs. They tanked and are prob a way better team then what we saw last year. They wanted that lottery pick.

Ya, I think that the Clippers already showed they don’t have what it takes. Paul George and Kawhi isn’t going to get it done. I think the obvious is the Bucks to win it all, but the Suns might surprise some folks as well. Durant and Booker looked pretty good together and with Beal in the mix that offense could be Warrior-like with better athleticism.
Yeah, but this is Frank Vogel, I just wish there would be no conflicts as he was known as a defensive coach. He will now handle offensive monsters so he needs to adjust to them and maximize what they can do on the basketball floor, where they are best at.
Frank Vogel will not be the coach for that Suns team and I bet that they are going to have hard time without a doubt. He is famous for overstudying the opponent, like at a point where you do not actually need it. On that 2020 season when Lakers won, they studied like crazy and that is good thing that they won.

However, we need to remember that defense is not what that Suns team will be famous for, and they need to score a lot, they do have great scorers so that should be their point of attack, not defending well. Bucks have way too high odds if you ask me, Dame doesn't make them suddenly championship title contender overnight, Nuggets with 11.00 still looks like the better option to me, they are the title defenders after all.

Well, I think they wouldn't have to wait on those first round picks, having Ayton on them is likely a win already to develop that young core squad. I think Ayton pairing with these rising young talent of Henderson and Sharpe will be fun to watch. Not that optimistic this year but if they could work it out, I feel like they will be a promising team to follow.

I was shocked. I thought they had enough after the Marcus Smart trade for Kristaps Porzingis.
And Woj already had an article about it. That was fast.  Cheesy
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/38538353/sources-celtics-add-jrue-holiday-trade-blazers
Quote
The Blazers are expected to want to keep Williams to pair with new center Deandre Ayton, but Brogdon will likely be part of additional trade talks upon his arrival in Portland, sources said. Absent another trade, Brogdon will start the season with Portland. The Blazers are committed to a young group of guards including No. 3 draft pick Scoot Henderson, 2022 first-round pick Shaedon Sharpe and Anfernee Simons, who signed a $100 million extension last summer.
Like I said in my previous post Trail Blazers is filled with guards so their real plan is to press the reset button and focus on Scoot Henderson and surround him with upcoming stars. I hope they will not be cheap this time. I think this is a good trade for both sides.
Now Boston Celtics are both strong on the offensive and defensive end, especially in their backcourt roster. This is getting scary, and I bet the odds will change again in the East and the Celtics will now be the favorite to win the Eastern Conference.
Two big men who are good at the frontcourt for the Trail Blazers. If they can work out a good chemistry with those guys and Scoot then I bet they can even try a playoff chance this season. Let's just wish Scoot would not be another Damian Lillard who was ignored after asking to add more good roleplayers but I do believe they have a good roster now.

Scoot and Simons for their guards. Shaedon Sharpe and Jerami Grant for their forwards. Ayton or Williams III for the center. I think that's decent or better.

I don't know why this surprised you since rumors of Blazers trading Jrue has started right after the Dame trade and Celtics has been mentioned as top destination mainly because of his defensive abilities.

I doubt Ayton has what it takes to lead a young team to be honest. I don't know if he had the presence in the locker room but he hasn't displayed enough of leadership qualities on the court while he was with the Suns.

Boston management just plain knows what they’re doing when it comes to making trades and signing players. Other than the Gordon Hayward and Kyrie Irving disasters, their record has been phenomenal. Yeah, and we know what Jrue can provide a 2-way star who can give out everything for the team,

I like his defense and the adjustments that he can take just to fit himself with the team, playing with young stars like Tatum and Brown,
they have a lot of time to build a good chemistry.

Now that the trade has been done, it's time to start forming a system that needed to be executed and plays that will fit both Jrue and KP
together with both Tatum and Brown, possible to see them in full working together to win a game.

The problem that I see though with the current Celtics roster is their inside defense.
I mean who are their big players right now? Porzingis, and a near-post prime player in Horford? What if Porzingis gets injured, and we know he's an injury-prone player? Who will help them defend the paint? Robert Williams is a great inside defender, and now they traded him alongside with Grant Williams, and Marcus Smart which are their best defenders.

Well, I don't see anything wrong with the trade. It's just that their inside defense is for me a concern. They got Holiday though to stop Dame because we know that the East is now Celtics-Bucks conference, but who will try to stop opponent's big players? I guess let's just see how this will come up. I mean the Warriors manage to win a title even though they don't have a legitimate center in their starting 5, so I guess the Celtics are trying to do the same as well.

It's great that they landed Jrue Holiday. They needed a player who can step up in clutch moments and also play good defense. Losing Smart is okay because they have Jrue Holiday now. This guy is not only good in defense but can also attack the paint and shoot from outside. He will be a great addition to the team, and Boston will surely benefit from his experience as a champion.

However, losing Malcolm Brogdon and center Rob Williams is significant, especially Rob Williams, who is a good rim protector.

I'm not sure what their plan is here, but getting Holiday required sacrificing a bit of their lineup. Let's see how it goes.

And the Bucks are still not done with their acquisition as they get Cam Payne from Phoenix with a 1 year deal.

Quote
The Milwaukee Bucks are signing former Sun point guard Cameron Payne to a one-year contract, a story broken by Shams Charania of The Athletic.

https://www.nbcsports.com/nba/news/bucks-sign-point-guard-cameron-payne-to-one-year-contract

And obviously, he will be a back up guard with the Bucks, Lillard will be the primary for sure and then Payne coming to replace him as just what he did with CP3 and him at Phoenix. For sure they are also banking on Cam as he got plenty of experience as well from CP3 as he is the mentor. So let's see how far he can stretch the guard position, maybe contributing around 10 points as average will be good enough for Milwaukee as the bulk of their offense will be Dame and Giannis.
