Joe public would not just download a bitcoin wallet to his phone and start using raw bitcoin as his bank account. However,  he might use the services of companies which use bitcoin as backend infrastructure, possibly without even realizing it.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

Simply because they would not need to use Banks... When people begin to understand the empowerment that btc gives them they will surely start to use it.
that is questions ?
most people don't know the facilities and technologies provided by bitcoin, so cutomers will be indifferent to bitcoin,
the question is, how to get people to understand?

I think it should be taughtt that they can cash out through some atm's or make an example. So that they will see this is really real cash not just any online money that aint real.

My understanding and experience is a bit different. People are doing the easiest and most convinient things if possible. So if they are not forced to use bitcoin (TV spots, marketing, etc) only a few of them will realize the benefits and will start to use it because of his own inner motivation.
So as long as people think that BTC is for online casinos, gamers, etc, they won't think to use it as a kind of digital money nor currency at all.
If some big electronic chains will start a campaign to pay with bitcoin to get some kind of discounts, it could have some positive effect. But why any of these big chains would start accepting bitcoin if they are not able to spend them, to buy stock or pay salaries etc.

Because it's easy (has its obstacles today, but will be better over time), and ofcours the fact that it's so much cheaper and quicker then FIAT.

If merchants offer only btc as payments for a very in demand products, it might get users to buy or interested to what bitcoin is. You're right. The more they'd probably try acquiring bitcoin if these online merchants can provide discounts after all btc's value will rise.  A simple link to a thread which gives the users an idea about bitcoin will sure get them informed.

Not all merchants would agree to it and there will be at least some merchant still offering services for fiat.
Imo people won't buy btc even if the above happens cause of the instability of bitcoin and the risk to lose their hard earned money .They might figure out some alternative at that time.

No matter what kind of risky things banks do with the money from their custommers, the average Joe is still trusting the banks far more than Bitcoin. That won't change any time soon. However, they can simply use Bitcoin's features in their advantage to see how much better Bitcoin really is. The only thing is.... How do you convince them to try Bitcoin?

Really? There are so many benefits for consumers, speed, anonimity, low fees etc.
The problem why not enough consumers are not using it though is due the fact, they need to be informed about how bitcoin works, what it is and an wallet upgrade would be nice too.

For a modern payment gateway, the wallet lacks many modern features..

The speed? The  confirmation takes 10 minutes! So that is way slower than swiping your credit card or paying by cash.
The anonomity is true, but do you need it when buying groceries and clothes?

I would however like it if there were discounts if you used BTC.

What! This is the first time I'm seeing that CC doesn't charge any fees! You are wrong mate.

Bitcoin merchants accepting Bitcoins save on credit card fees that can range anywhere from 0.5% to 5%, plus 20 to 30 cents for each transaction made. Bitcoin payments can be sent and received at a very low cost or none at all, as bitcoin fees are based on the amount of data sent.

That's why merchants always add the transaction fees alongwith the cost price, which is indirectly costing you more had it been that you purchased it with Bitcoins at a much lower price point.

To add up to your points Bitcoin is easy to transfer and does not cost so much like how money transfer costs and the only issue is it takes up to 30 minutes for confirmation after sending Bitcoin to someone.

I would like to use bitcoin if there is special offer for bitcoin use. Even if there is no special offer, I will still use it to support the bitcoin.

Bitcoin is a fast and reliable payment currency. It's safe, easy to convert to fiat or even to be used for buying items and goods.
This is the reason why bitcoin will surpass any digital currency in the near future. It's just that simple.

This is true, but most merchants charge the same amount for a item whether you pay with CC or Bitcoin. So more fair to user would be giving small discount by paying with Bitcoin, or add true CC and Bitcoin fees at checkout page and let the user decide.

Yes bitcoin is like an onlibe wallet. I have experience it so many times. Just open my wallet through my application with a passcode for security then go to an atm and withdraw it. I am secured also because I am in the mall at that time.

You are partially right in connection with anonymity. If you use BTC debit cards, your anonymity is over. If you pay in a webshop when they have to ship the item to you, you have to provide at least a name and an address, so that's not the anonymity again.
Of course you can keep your anonymity more easy compared to fiat card transactions but it can't be as anonym as cash, because it's using networks, devices, etc while cash is only a piece of paper and noone traces the route of the bank notes
