And most important, now,we need an official countdown for release.

Ok february 3....but we need to know the right time.Just like the big countdown over decred.com for the airdrop. Suggest to made the same and quick, since launch is very near.

Oh, it doesn't look like "we all knew" about this problem.
I think decred devs should account for their 450,000 PoS yr1 in their "$420,000 repayment" Its all free decred for them on top of the premine.
(now they will get most of our PoS too. 200,000 decred?)
But my point here is, at least us muppets should be able to PoS as "implied" (50%) which we wont.

So what?  It's all their work that has gotten decred this far, and it's all their work that will continue to develop it further.

You aren't owed any free coins from the airdrop.

You aren't owed the ability to PoS mine more coins.

You aren't owed the ability to GPU mine more coins.

You are owed nothing by the decred developers.

The little guy maybe being at a slight disadvantage until pooled staking is developed does not translate to "PoS won't work!  This coin is a scam!".

I swear to god, the sense of entitlement people around here have is astonishing.

had it, lost it, got it, read it, been here, been there ive got got loads of addresses, seeds, i have them too (bugger knows how i will ever get to my airdrop) now all gone tits up, ive wasted too much of my precious time,  i give up.

If you're having trouble, don't be disheartened. You will be able to claim your airdrop using the web wallet without hassle. You can rest easy.

OK, Good news, All set up and mining, Was a combination of usernames passwords wallet names passwords all that sort of stuff,  anyway not found any block yet (fingers crossed), but will post my quick notes for win10/Amd users/miners later on after a break. thats if you want me to.

A big help was by starting over and by deleting my testnet wallet found in appdata\local\dcrwallet\testnet.

One of the very few exciting crypto currencies out there. Decred is both exciting an innovative with features never before seen on an alt coin. My favorite thing about it is its governance feature. Can't wait for the release of the mainnet.

Hello everyone,

Just a quick update to solidify a specific date and time for mainnet launch now that testnet has been live for a while. The original plan was to bring mainnet up on February 3rd, 2016, in the event that no serious bugs were discovered during the week of testnet. However, operation of testnet and feedback from users have made it clear that the network will benefit greatly from two distinct factors that require completion or work prior to the launch of mainnet. These are:
PoW pools - the project is currently assisting developers who are working on pools for PoW mining
PoS pools - the project will complete and release a basic stake pool for those interested in PoS mining
As such, the specific date and time scheduled for mainnet launch is 12:00 PM CST February 8th, 2016. The software will be made free and open-source at 12:00 PM CST February 7th, 2016 - one full day prior to the launch of mainnet. Hopefully progress on these factors will afford everyone a little bit more time to become familiar with the software and make arrangements for the launch day!
