Can you explain the impact this will have on normal miners and HODLers rather than just from the perspective of what it will do to attackers?

the price is still down as compared to last year. we need some ideas to attract more people to hodl..like the pizza thing.
I think it would be more effective to do a marketing video on the subject of how to invest in Hodl and why you should invest in HOdl. That video then needs to include links that walk people through the steps of installing the wallet, buying, transferring and locking this coin, etc. The pizza thing was fun. I'm glad that worked out.

Hello All, I am interested in mining this coin, however, I am having a few issues. First, how do I modify the wallet miner to use a lower number of cores. I don't know anyone ... or any computer ... who is cool with running all eight cores 24/7. Since I also GPU and HDD mine on this machine, I need a core or two free. I searched the hodlcoin folder under appdata and everywhere else I could think of and can not find a configuration file for the miner. I'm a novice at code but I know how to create a batch file if someone could help me understand what I'm doing. I did manage to mine a block before it went down so that was nice but I was hoping to wake up to more Second, at first, I tried to mine with a pool, signed up at suprnova.cc and the miner was running perfectly... after an hour I still did not see any stats on the website and it did not show my worker as active. I verified the username.worker and psw were identical... still nothing showed up. Is the website accurate? I also tried to mine at http://hodl.optiminer.pl/ but never could get their miner to work, kept saying no response from host. Were they possibly down yesterday or am I just doing all of this wrong? Like I said, I'm interested, but need a little help. Thanks!

Hi all, I'm new here.
Today I bought some HOdlcoin on Yobit but I can't withdraw it to my wallet. Damn it !!! The price of this coin may be very low right now but it seems less dangerous than ECR where the top 10 addresses own half the total supply. I hope HOdl survives til the end of the bonus period. Then things will be interesting to watch
cheers

Grungie yobit has not been able to allow HOdl withdraws for a while now and I recommend you take a look at https://www.coinexchange.io/market/HODL/BTC as an alternative option

If not give that a shot okay... - in the main HOdl directory add a file and name it hodl.conf
- add this command genproclimit=8
- change that number 8 to the number of cores you choose to run
Now when you load HOdl it should read that configuration file and use the amount of cores you tell it to. Also you can reduce HOdl's memory usage if need be by adding this other command line to the .conf file... minermemory=1Finally after you boot the miner and get it running you can click on the Help Tab and then Debug Window and then Console and then type the command getmininginfo and it will then give you the genproclimit so you can verify your command worked.

Holdminer is indeed "down" since last friday. I'm not sure if this is a temporarily downtime or maintenance. But we'll see.

@DisasterFaster Thank you! I had read a little bit about that earlier in the thread but i thought I needed to find the conf file first, didnt know I could just tell the program what to do by creating one.

I use a .bat file with hodlminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://hodl.suprnova.cc:4693 -u user.1 -p x -t 2 -d -t is the number of treads, I can use 2 treads (i3 dual core hipertreated) and mine with gpu nicely at same time. -d seems to make process a little less intensive --- hodl.optiminer.pl seems to be down for the last 2 days, I can´t connect. using suprnova. configure your account, and set workers properly, make them work and check in 5 minutes, stats will show something

We no longer use or recommend YObit. Best way out is to sell all your HOdl for BTC, buy some Reddcoin or Doge and transfer that to another exchange. It's the fastest, cheapest and most sensible way to escape with your money intact. Well, you could transfer the BTC out directly but we all know how expensive and slow that is now. Top ten addresses own about 1/4 of total supply, I know because I'm one of them.

Very little impact in the short term - it increases capacity so that HOdlcoin can scale to 4X the size of Paypal, and introduces the possibility that inflation can be removed if enough usage is achieved. To pay for it, there's a 1cent minimum fee for transactions - half of which is paid to miners, and half of which is destroyed.

Looks like the block explorer isn't synced atm. Wallet shows height 262769 While http://www.fuzzbawls.pw/explore/HOdlcoin/index.php shows 262623 and an age of 462 minutes. The exchange I sent some coins to seems to have similar syncing problems.

I see some weird messages from the daemon's VM - bad memory accesses, segfaults and the sandbox is closing the daemon for security reasons.
Either the daemon itself is malicious or there is someone trying to exploit it - I'll keep it shut for now.

That's probably what happened at coinexchange.io and the block explorer too. Weird, the Windows wallet seems to work fine. Time for some solo mining I guess.

I time locked 50 hodlcoin for a month and it says it will mature in -50 days? anyone know how to fix that? I'm not sure how to unlock before maturation or if you even can. I think the hodl time is based on blocks rather than time, it lists the date as a general reference. Going from 30 to 50 doesn't sound right though, maybe you had a typo? I'm just learning too so i'm sure there are others who can answer this.

You can't. @titchbwfc: Upload a screenshot of the wallet and we should be able to see what's going on. Pool, Coinexchange and Blockexplorer are still not synced, does every Linux user have this problem?
