Good dedicated server for lisk node costs 50 dollars per year.

A dedicated server for $4,166 a month?  Roll Eyes

Lol okay, please post a link.

5 minutes Google... Look here for example sucking  https://billing.time4vps.eu/cart/

5 minutes for nothing.
Because these are not dedicated servers, they are cheap VPS.

I was a long time customer at Time4VPS.
But for the mainnet & forging, these are not the best choice.

_virtum searches the web frantically for a cheap dedicated server and sees the light_
(I can only hope) hehe
Good performance isn't cheap.
If cheapo VPN's were even viable, I would have simply used free AWS servers, lol.

Don't hesitate to vote for pools and delegates who make a profit for your voters. More pools in top 101, more profit for you.

I maintain over 9 servers for different purpose on Lisk for a year. With all other fees included I took about 4500$ out of my pocket just for that. I also have passed over 1500 hours in the lasts year for multiples things. Stuff like what was metionned earlier and a lot more (alpha test, guides, snapshots servers, alternate explorer, etc) If you count just 10$ per hour, this would mean 15 000$.

You really have no idea whats it can represent to be a good delegate with your "it' only a 50$ a year server"

By the way. a 5$ server a month is the cheaper you can get for entry level vps. This is 1 cpu, 512 mb ram, limited bandwidth, bad latency, no ddos protection, etc. This isn't even enough to run a single low quality server for lisk...

Drop mic...

Recent developments however indicate that GDT is in a process of monopolizing forging rewards primarily for its own benefit and with a view to achieving insuperable voting power through accumulating most of the newly issued LSK.

Well Carolina you're very brave. Thanks for bringing your concern to our attention. I also was introduced to GTD and even tried to get in myself but was denied entry due to the lack of weight and because of some divergences with other members.

I must say the original intentions of GTD were good. We do need dedicated folks to run the mainnet and keep it as stable as it should be. However a group monopolizing 80 slots "for its own benefit and with a view to achieving insuperable voting power" is seriously wrong and unfair.

Some GTD members even apologetically told me that they had to unvote me otherwise they would get evicted from this now corrupted group who has evidently deviated from its original plan.

Not all GTD members are wrong. Most of them are contributing in a meaningful way to the Lisk ecosystem so I guess those with a conscience like Carolina should stand up and denounce the greedy ones.

Notice to the Lisk Community

This post is about concerns with GDT (Global Delegate Team), the group of mutual voters that has 80+ members and accounts to a very significant percentage of forging delegates.

GDT is in existence since the early testnet for Lisk. Its core comprises participants from the testnet as well as from the former Crypti community. It was always said or widely perceived that GDT is good for Lisk since it were supposed to invest forging rewards into the Lisk ecosystem. Within the concept for Lisk it is envisaged to fund various projects for Lisk by way of forging rewards, and it was expected that the benefit exceeds the inflation that comes with the comparably high figure for block rewards that characterizes Lisk.

It is assumed by many that GDT would provide for an organizational structure that is beneficial for Lisk, for all of its community and the investors. Recent developments however indicate that GDT is in a process of monopolizing forging rewards primarily for its own benefit and with a view to achieving insuperable voting power through accumulating most of the newly issued LSK.

GDT has no statute for its governance. Basically there is a single individual who creates a list of its members. Part of the conduct of GDT is maintaining a rather high number of 80+ members that keeps it ahead of any other potential competing group. In recent weeks the style of governance had changed in that members were pressed to vote each other (while before basically everybody had to go for his own votes), and in that GDT implemented a vote tracking database and regime of questionable practices in regard to improve its ranking and having a tight grip on its members. More details on this are to follow...

This is not to say that all or the vast majority of its members are bad or untrustworthy delegates. For most there is no other choice than being part of GDT.

This post is done with the intend to break up GDT and prevent it from finalizing its grip on forging rewards. It can become very important that the Lisk community and all outside voters use their voting weight against GDT and its established leadership. In this context there is also a warning on pools that promote certain delegates without saying why it is good to vote them or what their alliances are.

Lisk has a great potential. It is important that the Lisk community makes use of its voting power and actively supports trustworthy candidates. Many delegates who are in GDT absolutely deserve votes from the community, as for instance they provide necessary technical support in order that the Lisk blockchain works. There are also many other important tasks done by several active delegates in promoting Lisk etc. A good indication for outstanding delegates is when they have the votes from both Max and Oliver. The more votes they get, the less dependent they are on GDT.

Attached to this post are the logs from the relevant Slack channels of GDT for the last few weeks. It is seen as fair giving every Lisker access to information that has importance with the affairs of Lisk.

With fairness seen as paramount, it should be attempted to break up mutual voting groups when they act as cartel and deliberately don’t let space to other groups or individual delegates. Acting for competitiveness can have a beneficial effect for the Lisk ecosystem and requires support from the community.

Sadly nothing will change... rich delegates are getting richer, and when the price is high they will sell the 10 thousand of Lisk. i am sure. thats human nature, pure egoism. so, Fuck the GDT!

omg another fool.
where are they manufacturing these idiots?
do they all have reading comprehension issues?

yes Max is doing something.... Voting for true supporters, not milking pools.... dooooh.
You wouldn't even be asking this question if you knew how to use an explorer... or even read lisk chat... it's all publicly viewable to anyone.

... to me, the "scumbags" are the ones here promoting the milking of all the forged lisk by touting "vote for only pools", to drive the price into the dirt.... when the current delegate collection is dedicated to holding for longterm.... barring the few pools already in.

... We could all just decide to unvote the pools.... Then wtf would you do?

We could simply unvote the pools just to show these peeps just how DPoS works... and then they would have nothing.
Thankless greedsters...
The only reason you get a single Lisk, is because we STAKEHOLDERS allow it.
no stake = no say... and pools inherently carry no weight because they give most of it away.
These cries would carry weight if their wallet had anything in it... but we know that's not the case, they are just greedy wolves, out to milk the network, and obviously don't deserve our time.

You keep pushing us, and that's what will surely happen. Be happy we allow a few pools, and stop being greedy assholes.

1) "Rich get richer" <--- Using this line makes you a moron.. It takes money to make money..  Regardless if you are mining with PoW, staking with PoS, or forging as a delegate.

2) "Delegates must be only pools." <---- "rich will get richer" and more of Lisk will be dumped on to the market, compared to the current situation. And if you check the blockexplorer you will see that ALL current members are keeping majority of forged list of the exchange. You people should thank them.

3) "Max should so something about this" <-- Like what? control the entire 101 delegate list? so much for your "decentralization."

4) 'Carolina is brave" <--- he/she made a long post without making a single point. Also, he/she is doing a lot of damage to Lisk making such posts.
Most of the delegates in that group are in that group because of the weight they bring in. As in they are the biggest Lisk investors, these are the people keeping the Lisk price from collapsing. These are the biggest Lisk supporters due to their financial investment. Carolin should thank this folks but I doubt she/he is capable of comprehending any of this given her post.

I am sure I can list more stuff to discredit Carolina attantion whoring post, but, mehh. I got better things to do.

With that said, if anyone wants to vote swap, let me know., i got 100K+

Cheers!  Wink
