Problem is that press only notices the illegal users and usages. Of course there are people abusing the system, but to stay in reality: Primary currency of world's money laundering instruments is the USD. And fiat money general.

How would an American big drug taker pay his contact in Colombia? By cash. And not in Bitcoin.

It's obvious that they will just broadcast the illegal used because it will affect the community.

And yes fiat money is in general. Other sources just like gold, crytpo's, oil are just options.

It's really safe for criminals couse they can reciving and sending money allover the world and nobody will know who was that. So i think yes bitcoin is a good choise for illegal activities. But i am not supporting criminals  Grin

I doubt criminals are really using bitcoin, otherwise you would see huge volumes being bought and sell at once, like 200 bitcoins, anyway why would they change the system of fiat that work over the years ?They dont hide they wash the money with companies and pay a tax to the country and all knows what they do really.

Yup some bitcoins are being used for illegal activity, again is that strange at all? Any currency in the world is being used for illegal activity at almost all levels, A currency makes it possible to deal with other people and that would draw criminals..

Before creating Bitcoin and other altcoins, criminals and terrorists used fiat and cash for illegal activities , and they still using it till now as noticed in news. So accusing only Bitcoin for this purpose coulden't be true, in my opinion.
Yes for centuries, criminals are working their way and they use money whenever and wherever the require, so not when bitcoin is introduced as a currency and everyone is using it, among whom criminals are also included, then why bitcoin is blamed.

Yes you are right its just bullshit in my opinion because the fact is that bitcoin itself is used by many fair people that have nothing to do with criminals.
The media is just talking bad about the bitcoin, every currency is getting used for criminal activities so what...

You guys should go check out the deep web and see howthey are making payments in their transactions. They are using bitcoins for these blackmarkets and illegal activities everywhere in the world mainly because anonimity is one of bitcoins features.
Bitcoin was introduced in 2009 are you saying there were no crimes, frauds, scams or illegal activities before invention of bitcoins?Obviously there were illegal activities the only difference btc has made is it has made it hard to track the money used in such activities but crime can still be cracked

That's true  , don't blame on bitcoin! Far before bitcoin invented there's so many crime and illegal activities.
It's just the matter of time that bad guys found an evil idea to abusing/ misusing a bitcoin eminence.
Everything depends on how we respond and react to , ignore people who thinks and do bitcoin being used for illegal activities and show to the world how good bitcoin are.

People will use anything at their disposal for illegal activities, that's just how it is.

It doesn't matter if it is Bitcoin, if it is Dollars, Euros, etc. Someone will use some form of currency to find an end for their means.

Depends on the definition of "illegal" in whos mind or perception and what religious beliefs fall into play, yada yada.

Only look down on a few activities, molesting kids and women. Conning old people and beating women or kids.
Everything else is fair game if I ruled the globe. Pedophiles create pedophiles,so I say round them up and be proactive in
limiting them in this manner. Thats the side of bitcoin I dislike a ton.

No more than USD is being used for illegal activities.

If you took a look at the percentages of Bitcoin being used for illegal activities vs. the percentage of USD activities being used for illegal activities, Bitcoin would win by a huge amount

LOL, you're right, if using dollars, illegal activity would be very easily tracked, but if using bitcoin illegal activity may not be trackable or may be very difficult

do you seriously think bitcoin is used more for bad things than the us dollar? you must be kidding, right? nothing in the world can come even close to the harm done by the us dollar.... bitcoin is of course also being used for illegal stuff, but in comparison to the us dollar, bitcoin doesn't even come close to 0,01% of the total harm done by by the us dollar. that fiat currency is being used to fund entire wars. but as always, the media picks always bitcoin out of everything. it clearly has influenced you.

The people that use it are bad not the method of making the trade. It can be fiat or gold if not bitcoin.
Sure, anything can be used for illegal activities. It is the source that is to blame not the medium which it is used.

With a such anonymity , easy transaction or any other benefits that a user experience in bitcoin , it's really one of the best option to those people who are using it in illegal activities. It doesn't mean that bitcoin used most all the time. Illegal activities are everywhere. There such place that can't be reached with bitcoin.

I think the dollar has a greater percentage of crime because they are first used. bitcoin still new. the age is 7 years. so little is using bitcoin as illegal.
