Barring some fundamental flaw with this technology, IOTA will definitely be a top contender.

Blockchain-based designs are numerous. The use of a DAG is a creative solution and puts us in an entirely a new category.
Other blockchains will use IOTA as a complement, our features will fix their deficiencies.

We are in a unique position, IOTA is unlike anything out there. Once our potential is recognized, the smart BTC and ETH whales will wisely diversify.

Overall the conditions look very good:

+The IOT space is wide open.
+Ethereum is trading in the $10 range.
+Big VC's coming on board.
+Quantum resistance
+Scalability
+Zero fees
+JINN
+...

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

No, it will still remain in Beta. But with Gui release it is expected that Beta testing will go much faster, as more people will be able to help out in testing.

If all goes well I would expect Iota to hit exchanges mid to end of april. But that is just my speculation...

Everyone who wants to make money should start working on IOTA projects rather than just speculate on token value, there's huge VCs looking to invest into IOTA projects, but for that to happen the projects first need to emerge. So if you're in this for money: be smart and go for the real big money

So which is it? Or both?

EDIT: wow. rather impressive mention:

Quote
Open Solar Energy generation data project ElectriCChain has gathered participants from prominent organizations including MIT, IOTA, NASA and Parc

To be clear this is IOTA as in our IOTA? And we are a prominent organization? Well… this is intriguing.

Well you got two choices:

1. If you aren't able either due to time constraints or something else to do projects, well then let others do the work; donate to the foundation. No one will work to make you richer for free, do your portion through incentivizing work.

2. Make something great with IOTA and we'll help you get funding, we got plenty of interested parties that want to invest into start-ups. A lot of these big VCs do not buy tokens, they only want equity in companies. The more companies/projects that get funded = the more IOTA will increase in adoption.

Yes, this is IOTA. I have been in talks with ElectricChain for over a month and we'll do the first www.chainofthings.com event (late May/early June) most likely with IOTA and ElectricChain as the first use-case.
