I will be happy to sell you. You will need to trust me to send after IOTA is released but I am a well known member of the community and I'm sure many will vouche for me. Please let me know.

Still selling much IOTA:

~5 million IOTA for sale at a rate of 1 btc == 40,000 IOTA

I'm surprised to see so many buying from others at the same price yet my sells have gone completely ignored:(

It's all about trust and if the people are knowing you. This is a kind of advantage for me, I'm Mr. IOTA in Germany  Wink

Small Update from my side: 2.7 Million IOTA are left of the 3.0 Million I offered yesterday.
Thanks all buyers for trusting me here.

Since CfB has ended escrow any deals will presumably have to be based on trust

To mitigate trust requirements Im offering 4 gentleman's agreements to buy small quantities to be sent to you after you provide an IOTA address following genesis (which looks as tho it'll be very soon).

PM me or reply in-thread for greater transparency.

Instructions:

1. After PM'ing me to state your intentions I require you to send the BTC to the following address:
1HD23HA2vdmwF4w67KbyoMBrtimYr9fUaU

2. Please PM me or post in-thread after you make the payment with the txid.

3. Once confirmed I will post the txid and a signed message including your BTT username and the amount of IOTA purchased to the IOTA Speculation thread.

4. After Genesis I will ask you to make a BTC micropayment form the same BTC address you paid for the IOTA with. This is in case your BTT account gets hacked so I can verify it is you.

5. Provide an IOTA address for me to send to.

That's it!

NB I will also provide you with an email address so that we may communicate directly in case this forum is taken off-line.

Warning

Please people, don't trade without escrow. Its super simple, almost everyone use it and it secures your investment. Run away from people who say the only way to do it is based on trust. There are many other escrows available.

Speaking for myself I can be trusted. I'm not gonna screw people over (or risk a vendetta) for a couple BTC
I am not using an escrow since I am not comfortable giving my IOTA password to anybody

If there is a way to create escrow without revealing my IOTA password Im all ears / would be interested to hear about it.

I guess it could work that way:

Buyer sends BTC to escrow (and informs him and you about his IOTA address).
You send the IOTA to the buyers IOTA address.
You send the tx id of the transaction of the IOTA transfer (using a tangle explorer) to the escrow as proof.
The escrow sends you the BTC.

This could work great, unless there's something I'm missing. What do you guys think?

Regarding speculation: I see a bigger market cap for IOTA than ETH (there's possibility even to surpass BTC), due to its bigger vision. I am still surprised from what I read in the bitcoinist article. Great times ahead  Cool

How does one find a reliable/trustworthy escrow?

Except that the IOTA sender could still back out entirely, so it's still flawed.

Well yea, but so could the BTC seller if the process was reversed. ALL forms of Escrow depends on the people in the deal going through with it, or the funds are returned. That's sort of the entire point of.. Escrow..

You can leave a security deposit you would lose if you turned down the deal.
Giving the password doesn't guarantee anything, as you can still take the funds after launch, so its worst.

Better to only trust in completing the trade, than in seller not taking both iota and the btc.

I suppose some people would feel better doing it the way you suggest.

On the other hand what Im doing is essentially the same as what CfB and David did to get this project started, selling IOTA for BTC.
When I look at these escrow providers on BTT they appear to me little more than Legendary members who have garnered trust over time (correct me if wrong), a quality which I believe I also possess. So the choice seems to be whether one trusts another BTT member more than me.

Whatever, this is not about YOU. Its just a general advice for everyone willing to trade.

DO NOT TRADE WITHOUT ESCROW.

If someone decides to do it, its fine, but if something happens don't come later crying asking for justice or their money back.

Cool, but like I said before, when I look at these escrow providers on BTT they appear to me little more than Legendary members who have garnered trust over time.

Is that a fair description or am I missing something?
