Hey Iotatoken can you disclose some rough price range at which the big potential buyers are interested in? I think this is key info.

There's no reason to do that publicly before this goes from just being a 'potential' to something actual. First we need to pool enough together, otherwise it won't happen.

About how much do we need ?

Is it jl777?
No, this is much bigger than Jl777.
Is it Bobsurplus? I heard he's way fatter than James.
Bobsurplus looks like a pump&dumper. I bet David definitely avoid this kind of guy...

Guys, think out side of the anonymous world. Think real world with real names and real companies and real reputation and recorded history. Iota will only deal with those people. Again, the rerun they have brought to the coins after they invested is significant in the history.

Lookin at the Genesisblock i see in the first 10 accounts alone well over 250 Mio Iota.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1262688.msg14116556#msg14116556

Whats so hard to get some big holders to give 10% of their stake? It makes much more sense to me than to ask folks with 500.000 Iota to share 100.000.

Why do you think I asked specifically for big holders for the potential deal? Precisely this.

As for foundation: everyone should contribute here, it's a community effort. Most of the big whales I have spoken to will donate 10% of their holdings, but that doesn't mean that those who hold 500K should donate 25-50K if they want IOTA to grow. The community need to be dedicated, not just idle and hodl in speculative efforts.

It's no surprise that it is only in the 'IOTA Speculation' thread where this sort of thinking shows up, virtually nowhere else.

Just the fact that they are able to buy in a large chunk, which would be a hassle to do on an exchange is bending over for these guys enough.

exactly my thoughts.

Well I also think the big holders will benefit from donating to the foundation.

Holders with less iota would want to hold them, but if we are all sitting on our iota's and nothing is happening we are all holding nothing.

I propose that everyone in the community regardless off the amount you have contributes 5%-10% of their stake.

90%-95% of something is alway more than 100% of nothing.

Just the fact that they are able to buy in a large chunk, which would be a hassle to do on an exchange is bending over for these guys enough.

exactly my thoughts.

No, it's called negotiation and business, we stand to gain more immediately than they do from this deal. I don't get why this is so hard for people to comprehend in this speculation thread.

Just to put the absurdity of this into perspective in layman terms: Do you guys also think that Puma went up to Usain Bolt like: "We know we stand to gain a ton by your association and involvement with our brand, but you'll have to buy all your clothes at retail for full price"?

Here is the facts: if enough iotas is not pooled together at a satisfactory value for them, the deal won't happen. If the community don't see enough value in such a huge deal that is 100% their right and would indicate to me that they got some extraordinary plans up their sleeve which make them confident that we don't need such important key partnerships, and I wish them good luck while I'll sit back and wait for their huge announcement.

So... 50 mil to foundation and 25 mil to a big deal ?

I own about 4 mil iota and I pledge a donation of 400,000 to be split up between the foundation and this large potential deal as David sees fit.

I encourage others to make the same pledge! Let's get this done!
