Too many hacks on this coin. Devs should have used the time since the last hack to fix solve the problem or bring in someone from the outside who is capable of solving the problem. Each hack erodes the credibility of the dev team. If the current team can't fix the problem, they should suck up their pride and bring someone in who actually can figure it out. This coin was supposed to be a top 10 after the announcement, but at this rate it'll be soon drop into the top 50 range.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

You know how much McAfee charges per tweet to mention a coin right? As for Verge I'm not sure what pisses me off more the latest exploit or the silence that has followed from the team. I do wish them well though as any hack affects the reputation of crypto in general . Those who are posting shitpost regarding Verge should pull their head in. |

Update
Verge has once again been exploited yesterday with a 51 percent attack where one single miner bought lots of hashpower to gain control of Verge blockchain. Block 2155850 to 2206272 were mined with super-low-diff for the hackers. About 35 million Verge coins ($1.7M) were created in few hours rather than a few weeks – all alone by single person/group.
To elliminate this issue once and for all, we are releasing a small patch to prevent this from happening again. In the meantime we're working on a whole new codebase, more about this soon. Binaries for the patch can be found below and will soon be added to the OP. We urge everyone to update ASAP.

It says a lot about the community, but it also says a lot about the partnerships. Sunerok needs to get his act together. This is no longer a mom and pop coin, this is a billion dollar coin that has the potential to grow exponentially. The code needs to be fixed once in for all. If need be, Verge has to bring someone in from the outside to do the job. A band aid is not going to cut it. If the code can be fixed, community support will continue to grow.

Seriously, after the crowdfund and 75M collected, million Dollars paid for a so called partnership and some 10 lousy articles on more or less underground news, 2 identical hacks where the group gets away with multi million dollars, mostly the 2nd time no rollback and mostly again only a fast temporary fix, and who knows what after shit is going on behind the scenes. If there wasn't the whole xvg community holding each some XVG i bet this coin would have gone down allready to 1 -2 cents or just back to the roots. But what does this help actually? All the momentum, possibilities are gone, crowdfund wasted (yes, i call it wasted from first day IF you pay for a partnership!), multi millons hacked, simple mathematics show that form both attacks btw. USD 5-10M at least are gone forever. Come on, which serious partner wants to be allied with such negative performance? What's left for the creditcard, won't going to happen, seriously. I even wonder what these days happens at mindgeek, if all the payments are invalid, didn't work, whatever. |

The devs didn't want to rollback after the last attack, right? I suppose they're not going to rollback now either? Well it'd be stupid if they'd rollback so many days later anyway.
I'll keep holding my mining rewards at these prices, too low to sell but... the devs act like a red flag for hackers! Be more aggresive against hacks pls!
