I think it's pretty cool to be world-famous for having bought a pizza.

I always think to myself, would I rather have gotten in Bitcoin at the very beginning, and done something like this or get involved once it had grown from it's early stages.  These guys had no idea the growth and value that would ensue in such a short time frame, and that's why this is so historic!

Try to think it in a different way. What if Bitcoin is reaching highs in one or two years we do not think about yet? Let's say $10,000 / BTC. I now it sounds crazy, but has lazlo thought that Bitcoin will reach $1,000 one day when he offered 10k BTC for a pizza? Probably not. So, you could be still on the winner side if you hold your Bitcoins.

but it is very difficult course to keep hold of bitcoin when the price decreases. only the strong-minded to be able to know what should be done

How could he know at that time that Bitcoin will make big impact in whole economy? He's legendary because he made the first shopping with Bitcoin.

Few years back, Bitcoin were really new and the risk is really high just like any new start up company.... Everyone would be rich if everyone knew it

Just thought I'd post on this thread so I can look back in the future and smile and say to my kids and grandkids "I actually posted on the thread where the guy bought a pizza for 10,000 bitcoins" Grin.

Perhaps they should make a film about this story?

Isn't that what the very first purchase was in exchange for it? Think it was in silicon valley or somewhere in San Francisco they got it delivered to them. It was a humble beginning.

Is there a site with a pizza place directory that accept BTC? I have been looking around and I have not found it yet.

Not sure how legit this site is, but there's this one:

http://pizzaforcoins.com/

I'm sure you can use Gyft for places like Whole Foods to get some supermarket pizza.

For actual places that accept it, Morgan Spurlock buys some pizzas in Brooklyn, New York, with Bitcoin during his documentary "Inside Man":

Watched this documentary a little over a month ago. There was a lot you can get with bitcoin now, almost everything actually if you think about it  Cheesy
But he lived off bitcoin for a month. He did it because he was in a city where 70% of the time shops accepted it as payment. A coffee shop didn't from what I remember.
He even paid his rent and utility/phone bills with it. Pretty inspiring film if you ask me.

That made me do a double take. $ 2,843,700.00.

To put that into perspective for you, with that amount of money, you can buy:

  • Five Lamborghini Aventadors, and still have cash to spend
  • Buy three Bugatti Veyrons.
  • Get 450 pounds of marijuana.
  • Sign off on 36 Supercharged 2013 Range Rovers.
  • Become a rapper and feature 2 Chainz on 28 of your songs.

And Lazlo just spent that on a pizza. It's crazy.

a 7900 bitcoin transaction just went by on my node (in block 364916).

That's like, eight slices of Laszlo's pizza.

I think I'm going to propose "Slice of Laszlo's pizza" as a synonym for KiloBTC for the next version of the client.
