Thereee wee gooo...

Alright everyone, time to beat is 5 hours 26 minutes and 38 seconds. Shouldn't be too hard, she's pretty quick on the keyboard normally.
You got in too early, you missed YipYip's 4 consecutive, useless posts, above in less than 10 minutes ...

*sigh* I know, I should've bet on YipYip instead..vastly faster than CharlieContent on the keyboard, and as a bonus his posts are generally illegible given the poor grammar and sentence structure.

After ignoring both CharlieContent and YipYip, I find there's about 4 or 5 actual posts per page, especially within the past 20 pages Tongue

Good one spell nazi...  Kiss

Bunch of fail.

These guys have been collecting pre-order funds on the premise that they'd ship first for 7 months and still got beat to the punch. So who's getting fired? Roll Eyes

Should be someone.. Someone that starts with 'I' and ends in 'naba' would be a good start.

For all the blustering by the 'hare', the 'tortoise' won the race.

While it is likely true that Avalon has shipped one or two devices, they have not as yet given any proof other than to state that they have.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=137534.msg1466313#msg1466313

... and since it would appear that they didn't run the device with any proof of running it, it's currently sounding like there wont be any proof until jgarzik get's his Avalon that there will be any proof of the devices hashing either.

So ... until then ... there is still a very slim chance that someone else may be first Smiley

Wishful thinking IMO.

This, along with your recent posts in the Avalon thread, makes you sound angry/bitter that Avalon:
A. Didn't want your help developing software for their product.
B. Are not sending you a free ASIC.

Either way you look pretty silly to me.  Embarrassed Embarrassed Tongue

Yeah, Avalon totally shot BFL in the head with chips that use four times as much power. Good thing we all get it for free, yeah?

I recon once the difficulty is REALLY REALLY high that these Avalon devices are NOT going to be very popular.  I dare to say once BFL has shipped and caught up on all orders, that people are only going to buy their equipment.

Avalon shipping is a bit of a win for them, but it's not a future proofed device.

We may have lost the battle gentleman, but we will win the war!

Oh just shut up and do the math. Or use http://www.bitcoinx.com/profit/ if you are too dumb to do it yourself.

With 66Ghash, 400 Watt, current difficulty, $0.15/kWh, 15$/BTC your revenue per day is $152.

Even with 4,000 Watt you'd make $139 a day.

Even with 40,000 Watt you'd be profitable ($9 per day).

Just thought I'd mention that doing any return on investment calculation using current difficulty as a reference is pretty pointless.  Difficulty will skyrocket as ASICs get shipped to end customers.  Any calculations made with today's difficulty would only be valid for a few days at best.

We may have lost the battle gentleman, but we will win the war!

The war is over once all Bitcoins are mined. Until then there are only battles. And BFL lost this battle.

Maybe on 1/2 year, when BFL finally ships, Avalon - or some other company - have next gen ASICs. What will you say then? Again "We may have lost the battle gentleman, but we will win the war!".

Dream on!

Another clown that can't do the math.

Once Avalon has shipped all units of their first batch difficulty will be approx. 6,000,000. Your revenue per day will still be $78.

Even with 4,000 Watt it would be $65.

You see, power consumption does not make such a big difference as BFL/Josh claims.

That is exactally the opposite what people said when the BFL singles where going to be shipped. Blah Blah Blah 4x power useage (neglect double hashrate etc) you will never make money. Same hashrate, lower power use, More Profit. When people can buy a SC Single and lower power use to 25% they will be able to buy more hashrate and actually run miners out of using Avalons. Sure it won't be tomorrow, maybe not next month. That being said either Avalon makes a new unit soon with far better power use or people will buy elsewhere. Again Not Today but soon enough.

If you add on all of BFL's preorders, difficulty will go up over 100,000,000.

a 60GH/s device will only make $5.  power will cost $8.  So when all the paid for ASICs are in the wild, the low power usage devices are gunna look pretty good!

First they have to ship. Which will be in October. 2013. Or 2015. Who knows ...

Bullshit.

The difference in earning potential (in the time span of a day) in your scenario would only be a couple of cents. Marginal profit.

At that point it won't matter very much whether you have a BFL or an Avalon. The difference will be counted in cents.

-----------------------------------

Try opening a cyber cafe and running the numbers between "thin client" 5watt machines vs 400 watt fully equipped PC's. You will quickly notice that the difference is marginal over a single day. And barely worth the trade-offs in the span of a month.

(Now in the span of years, those cents and dollars add up.
