I find it interesting that here in Canada we are creating a new bill with the Queen on it. When she dies we will have to replace all of the currency again,seems like a waste of money to create a new bill right before she kicks it.

No money will be 'replaced' when the queen dies, it's just that most likely the next monarch will be featured on newly printed money. It would be silly to just destory all 66+ billion CAD and print/mint it again.... And creating the new bill, which is essentially just changing it's design, won't cost the BOC much, just hire a graphics designer and some folks who can increase the security and off you go to the printers.

I believe in the Fiat. He appeared for a long time and will be for a long time. It's a habit, lifestyle, moral people need. Some do not trust electronic payment systems. Enjoy principle fiat.

Fiat is our money so we should believe because we are using it in daily basis.. bitcoin is just alternative for those who knows of benefits of bitcoin .
We are lucky that we have bitcoin to use easily and to use in some stores online..

You are correct and as it is ruled by our government and approved by international community then there is not any way to not to believe on fiat and it will be the same in the future like in the future it will not drop in demand.

Every single fiat currency has had its value drop to zero so the demand of any fiat can drop at any moment that is why you must take your precautions and not be invested in fiat completely.

Why you not believe in fiat ? I think everyone believe in fiat as believe in bitcoin. It's same imo, currency for paying or buying something. And bitcoins for online things.

yes that is a fact, i also do believe on bitcoin as well as on fiat currency, i am receiving my salary in fiat i pay my bell in fiat i pay my children fee in fiat i even pay utility bills in fiat and i do shopping in fiat because there is not a sing shop in my area who accept bitcoin for shopping so how can i not believe on bitcoin,

Well, Fiat has the main role in our life due to daily transaction, no doubt we need it.
Why some people hate it? I thought it about they don't have much, if you were rich regarding have a lot of money, you wouldn't hate it.
Bitcoin is precious but not much as Fiat,  since it hasn't using by all population over the world, besides bitcoin value rated in fiat.

There is point of contradict,both fiat and btc have value and bitcoin inturn is dependent on fiat to make its value in general.maybe the problem lies in physical way.digital payment has become a fast and flexible in past few years thats why most of bitcoin holders prefer bitcoin over fiat.

I think majority if not all would say that they still believe in fiat. Try living only on bitcoin and see how far it can take you without any use of the fiat. That's how important fiat still is and will be for the foreseeable future. Bitcoin would rise and fall and be know more in the future but fiat will be fiat and we have to live with that.

I think this thread should not be created in the first place because the fact that we are using fiat, definitely we believe in fiat. Maybe the OP just try tried to compare it with bitcoin and due to the presence of bitcoin they think fiat will loses its value..

As long as there are governments with the authority to fiat then fiat money will keep on existing the difference is that with alternatives like bitcoin the power of fiat may decrease over time.

Governments are too tied to fiat to change any  time soon. I think bitcoin can be used along with other payment methods like paypal in the future.

Because they used too it and have control in fiat,however I am still believing with fiat because that is the medium and currency for each country. Unless there would be one world government and one currency and for sure bitcoin is the one that will be used for it. If that day happens, I will not going to believe fiat anymore because all of us will be using bitcoin.

As for me and my cat, we don't have to believe in fiat. We think that the question itself is pretty much meaningless. Fiat is not wealth, it is only a means of payment, a tool for obtaining (exchanging) value, not the value itself. If we regard money as that and only that (i.e. an intermediary in the exchange of values), we wouldn't have serious issues with trusting or not trusting it simply because we would get rid of it as soon it gets into our hands, irrespective of whether we trust it or not...

Firstly everybody till now is using fiat and in future as well will use it. May be if bitcoin goes streamline in coming time then the fiat may reduce but still will remain. Or if bitcoin goes out or something better comes up then as well fiat will be there.

Yes, I still believe in fiat. I even believe that it will remain in the next years as our main method of paying someone. Try going outside and asking a stranger about bitcoin, he/she would either be crept out or would just simply say "No". The chance of you finding a fellow bitcoiner is extremely low.

The same goes for the shops out there. When you ask them if they accept bitcoin, most of them would say no. There might be some shop owners that knows bitcoin but it's very likely that he's not accepting it in his shop as payment.

Even if it seem that there's a lot of bitcoiner because of the population of this forum, it's still hard to find one in real life. Fiat is still essential in our lives because it's the primary way of paying people in our daily lives.

Honestly i trust more in fiat at this point.  I do believe in bitcoin but I believe that fiat money is the one that i need at this point.  This is the reason why I am converting my bitcoin to fiat money if i gathered enough. I can't buy my daily food with bitcoin but with fiat money i have no problem in transaction regarding this kind of stuff.

I believe in fiat. And actively use this currency. A kriprovalyutu use for investment. In fact, it will still be living Fiat.
