So how do you think, the trade-in program will work?
Do we how-to ship our Icarus or Lancelot first.
And once they received them, they'll ship avalones to us?

I hope this whole trade-in programm will start, before bfl starts shipping...

Considering the big price hike for batch #3 one wonders if they will stand by the earlier advertised price for batch #2 ($1500).

Probably not. That's why I think the trade in program is pretty much pointless at this point. One would've been better off just buying into batch1 and batch2 with BTC instead of waiting for this trade in program that never comes.

Some of us did not sell our boards when we could only because the offer to upgrade Icarus boards was on the table.

I always thought I could upgrade my 5 Icarus boards to 5 Avalons.

But I guess we'll have to wait and see if they keep their promise.

There's more: I thought I'd be able to buy an Avalon at a discount price vs batch1 or batch2 prices. If the "discounts" are still the amounts published in $ but the discount is applied to the batch3 price, most of us probably can't afford it anymore.

Hmm, yeah that's the crucial question. Will they honor the Batch 1 or Batch 2 price for trade in clients. I don't know if it makes economic sense for them to honor the price now. Also batch3 customers would bitch and moan about how unfair it is that trade-in customers get such a huge discount. But what batch 3 customers must  realize is that batch 1 and 2 customers paid a LOT more in BTC terms than they did.

If they honored batch 1 or batch 2 prices I can tell you for sure that I'd be more than willing to pay that price

I posed the question thinking that most would answer yes of course, considering the trade-in is part of batch #2. It seems most are saying the opposite.

If you are right I will be upset.

Trade-Ins. Avalon believes in continuing the trust that have build up with our old customers. Reinstating our policy of $300 per Icarus, $400 per Lancelot, limited one FPGA trade-in per ASIC unit. The trade-in program will continue to be available and will apply to 1st-gen Avalons when the time comes.

A week before batch #2 is ready to ship, we will make an announcement to those who wish to trade-in their last generation units to sent in their units, once we receive the units

We plan to start shipping majority of batch two orders starting on 15th of April.

Well, you are right thinking in BTC terms, as this is a machine that generales BTC. I would imagine them pricing next batches around 40 to 65 BTC (just a guess), but I cannot imagine them charging only 7 to 10 BTC, which would be the equivalent of the USD price of batch 1 and 2.

At that price units would sold out in 1 minute.

Nothing scary happened yesterday. Just market rules. Insane price increase which happen lately was regulated by the market. What worries me personally is panic not drop in price:)

Going from $20 to $266 in 2 months is not sustainable. That draws in Wall-Street sharks and speculators who just want to do a quick FIAT profit. It's not possible to have no corrections if the price goes x10 each 60 days, too many newborn millionaires willing to cash out their profits.

We need a very nice correction to double digits and then a reasonable and sustainable growth trend.
