I feel like they do not respect me... or many other groups of people, like homosexuals, Muslims, et al... basically anyone who is not a christian is not worthy to them...

If it makes you feel any better I don't necessarily believe you are going to burn in fire for eternity and I still don't respect you.

These people sometimes go to extremes to convert the non-believers. I remember an incident, about which I read a few years back. In Venezuela, there is a primitive tribe called the Pemon. When the missionaries asked them to convert to Christianity, they initially refused the offer and ridiculed the missionaries. The missionaries told them that Jesus is angry, and he will seek revenge for their "sins". During the night, some of the missionaries set fire to the tribal homes. The next day, the entire village converted to Christianity.

It's OK to believe or not to believe in any religion but my only issue is that people who belong to both ends are pushing and forcing their thoughts down the throats of ones who don't share their views. They either mock them or ridicule them for believing in the fact of what they believe in and regarding crimes and incidents that take place, I don't believe that any group whether atheists or non-atheists are saints and have never done anything wrong. There are cruel ones in both groups and hence the fight is meaningless. If you or your views aren't hurting anyone, it shouldn't bother others of what you think or give them any explanation.

The Bible says its only a fool that says there is no God. From what OP posted it seems he knows nothing of Christianity, Just like everything good thing on this world, They are some people who pervert the truth of Christianity, Christianity is not about laws. Its all about a relationship we have with our Savior Jesus Christ. People always pervert things for their personal gain. And with the creation of the Lake of Fire. The Bible specifically said it was created for Satan and his angels not human being.
