Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

i have already bought 65gbp/0.12BTC from one member here. how is anyone going to build trust without initially sticking their neck out? i have no interest in scamming for 2 reasons.. first is i wouldnt sh*t on my own doorstep and second is im making profit on what i sell though need to buy BTC at times when im getting low to rinse and repeat so im making my cheese elsewhere, no interest in scamming just need to be able to buy BTC quick to keep the cogs turning in the machine.
i was using virwox but im nearly at my 30 day cap and i have only been registered there for 5 days so thats 25 more days before cap is lifted si i need to find someone or somewhere else where i can get BTC with paypal either directly or indirectly.
also im thinking with the amount of scammers using paypal there might be a little niche i could work on here buying BTC for paypal straight up with no scams.. trouble is people would need to stick their neck out ot gain trust which would in turn encourage more people to stick their neck otu and gain more trust and so on.. ill buy BTC off anyone here, admin, mod, long standing user, etc as im sure their trust feedback would hold more weight plus if it was an admin/mod if i did scam id be booted off the forum instantly.

I'm quite puzzled. So how can I buy bitcoins safely without linking my bank account to trade websites like bitcon.de?
Localbitcoin.

As a n00b, how do we prove ourselves so that we can do a transaction through PayPal? I mean I've got plenty of eBay feedback to at least prove I'm a honest seller/buyer.

A picture of you with your ID card or Passport in hand could be enough for some seller.
