I'm thinking about buying more aurora coin to keep it as the same as gold assets for my future. it's really quite cheap compared with the other altcoins on the market and it exists for many years with many users in the crypto world. I believe it will have a big increase in this year about 100% profit.

you should think even longer-term. Give it 3-5 years.

Yes, I agree - Coin seems to be backed by smart people. So 3-5 years is looking like life of spark on Xmass tree.

But, my question/suggestion is :   What if we could change algo for equihash? Or something similar to Z coins idea - full privacy with access to transaction details only for participant's of some, not to third parties.
Is this possible?

I got a question, is there any emission graph of coins being created.

that might explain to me my following questions

1.How many coins will here be created, im guessing 21mil - the burn ?
2.How many coins are there in the wild.
3.when will there be no more coins to mine

Would love to see a graph if someone in here is a ninja in excel.  Cheesy

edit: so 6.39mill left to be mined in the next 123 years that sounds good to me  Wink

is there some half-ing time involved or how does the reduction of mined coins work ?

Everything is possible, but for our goal it is not needed. The chain runs stable and full anonymity is not a goal for us. It only adds extra overhead to the code, which we want to keep as clean as possible... which isn't a luxury if we want to keep this going beyond 2140.

I forget. But I think above schedule may be incorrect. It got messed up in the multialgo change, I think and the first halving will take 2 more years to reach (coin supply not affected afaik).

so is iceland fully rely on auroracoin these days?

We are missing a few shops that accept Auroracoin, but we are getting there...99.99999% to go!  Cheesy

bruh... it's dead. come on now...

If it was dead, it would not have had an extremely steady growth of over 40% this year alone. Fact is, it's alive more than you know. We are just not going to hype things here.

Once we can show the results of the hard work being done by the team with absolute certainty of quality, you'll see how vital this initiative still is. Until then, you can chose to have faith in it or not. Your choice  Smiley

Intersting article on icelands financial position and how the central bank might be planning to peg the krona to the euro.

The Central bank looks likes it is going to persue dubious strategies once again.

A second Android wallet is just about to be released. Development on qr code scanning for our webwallet (iphone) is close to finish. Isx.is is the only crypto exchange in Iceland for auroracoin, has now been in operation for a year. Development on a merchant solution is close to be finished and we just signed up our first merchant a few weeks ago.

We are just starting i think.

Any news about android wallet? Is it going to be compatible with old android version? I mean easy update and recovering coins from old wallet, as at the moment many people are stuck with their coins on old version.

I guess you mean the Schildbach wallet. Yes, that one has been a problem for us as well (don't get me started on that). We had someone write a tool for it to recover the private keys and to import them into the core wallet (if I remember correctly). But we have not yet had the time to really look at it, or write a tutorial for people to follow on how to actually do that. I'll try to have an initial look at it soon and keep the thread updated regarding it.

I had a look at the tool, but it requires some adjustments before it can be used for Auroracoin wallets. Development was performed on the Bitcoin version of the schildbach wallet, so it needs some adjustments for making it Auroracoin compatible.
