Has there been any plans for the inevitable scaling issues that will arise as Auroracoin will (hopefully) reach mass adoption?

It might be a good idea to do some proactive measures while it's still fairly simple politically to do changes to the protocol - SegWit+LN, larger blocks, something else?

A lot of the future proofing was already done in the changeover to multi-algo.  Many of the issues with BTC right now are the long block times and the sheer number of transactions that are occurring per block.  AUR should have 10 blocks on the chain in just longer than the time it takes for BTC to have 1 block, meaning transactions over time per block should be smaller compared to BTC.  It would take years before AUR ever got to a point where it would be close to hitting the hard limits that BTC has in terms of blockchain capabilities, and by that time a lot of the technology out right now would be obsolete.

Politically speaking, AUR won't run into the same red vs blue/black vs white BS that BTC is going through with what to do when things don't work.  Bitcoin is in a place where there are more technical users and miners than there are mom and pop coffee shop customers, which is BTC's downfall right now in finding a solution.  Too many chiefs, not enough indians.  The team has discussed a lot of the future change protocols, and we've been working out plans on how to adapt to needed changes while still involving the community in decision making.  Not saying that every change is going to require a community vote, though.  But lets be honest here.  Most people who will be a part of the "mass adoption" won't ever touch a miner or the technical side of the blockchain.  They won't care what the change is that makes the chain work, they just want the chain to work.

Well the hope is to build it back up, and to turn concept into reality.  The current team, myself included, is in it for the long haul, mate!

I will add this...

The more silent our team becomes, the more is being developed! By that I mean more real integration with the Icelandic economy, not some awesome technology that proofs we are cool coders. Once we can share the great results we are working toward, all cool coders will be waiting in line to share their skills with us.

If by now you haven't figured out this is truely a long term project, you are either a newbie looking for a quick gain, or a delusional speculator from the past still looking for a way out. In both cases I urge you to move on, we simply can't provide you with any satisfaction.

A fool will just look at the finger, even if it points to paradise!

There is a new wallet available for Android, on Google Play, for use with Auroracoin !

Though it is somewhat geared for the Icelandic market in the sense it will have stronger support for the Icelandic Exchange, ISX.IS, including using the current bid price for AUR -> ISK pricing, it also has support for AUR -> USD pricing.

More currencies will be added as time goes on but this is a step toward more adoption.

This version has also been installed at a few merchants in Reykjavik that are testing out accepting Auroracoin, and will be used as the basis for an upcoming Merchant Release which will be geared for accepting AUR at the sales counter / payment point.

I was the one who started that, but I noticed a few times that people are copying it, which is IMHO not a problem. I chose a value that I could use as a measure in how much dumping would occur, that could support the price (and keep it stable) and generate enough order size for merchants to convert back to ISK (although it is now also used for bag holders to cash out). Part of the dumped out AUR are transferred to ISX, initially as a way to transfer AUR back into Iceland, to provide a similar support of the price and again to actually build the support for merchants.

It's all part of building a system to economically support AUR to become a good alternative to ISK.

This liquidity for buyers and sellers is possibly the most important part of building trust in Auroracoin.

it's nice to see your calculation. it's quite clear to know how many coin produced per day.

I'm impressive with this coin . it's still developed and well supported by community.

We'll keep an eye on it and refill as needed. There are currently still 10 sell orders to 22 ISK, purchasing now on other exchanges for selling on ISX, would have more expensive orders than that and would be an unnecessary pumping of the price.

Interestingly enough, or even coincidentally or synchronistically enough..... 354 is also Iceland's International Access Code as well.

It's all written in the stars, ya know.
