Hi, just for your information - at least two links on your website (http://en.auroracoin.is/) don't work.

Statistics - http://aurstats.com/
Auroraspjall forum - http://auroraspjall.is/

First one looks completely down, second one returns HTTP 403 (Forbidden).

I think this is a good thing in general for crypto in Iceland. I would like to see Auroracoin there also but from my conversations with the owner of the ATM, it comes pre-installed to buy cryptos from Kraken, which does not trade Auroracoin.

Mostly it will be tourists staying at this hotel that will exchange their ISK paper money to cryptos when leaving Iceland. Icelanders don't use paper money in general, only cards.

I am looking for a myr-gr AUR mining pool without BTC autoexchange.
Unfortunately, the list in the first post of this thread is outdated.
Thank you.

Hi i'm new here so perhaps maybe you could answer a few questions?
1. What is the total supply of Auroracoin? I only see circulating supply on cmc
2. Where can I read the whitepaper/roadmap?

My first impression of this coin, is that it looks interesting and is quite stable price wise, with some steady growth apart from the big spike in the beginning. Could someone elaborate what happened?

Total Supply will be 21 million, however 5.5 million were burnt as a result of not being claimed during national airdrop 3-4 years ago.

CMC reports 8+ million in circulation, however not accounting for the 5.5 million burnt coins, there are about 11 million coins that are in circulation.

So roughly speaking,   11m + 5.5m = 16.5 million coins created   and therefore about 4.5 million coins left to mine.

No whitepaper (these things weren't that common when Auroracoin was created). It's a so-called country coin. Main goal is to have it for mass adoption in Iceland.
There is currently no real roadmap, things are more or less developed as we see fit for our goal.

Hello all

I am new to this forum so please bear with me if I ask of things that have already been talked about.

1. Were can I find a reliable solo miner for my GPU to mine AUR?
2. Were can I find detailed, exact information about what text or wording I need to put into such a miner and where in the miner, so it will mine AUR?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome,

In general mining AUR is not really different than other coins and there have been plenty of tutorials written on getting GPU mining going on Auroracoin.
Just use Google. Keep in mind Auroracoin uses 5 different algos, 2 are not suitable for GPU mining (SHA256D and Scrypt), Groestl-myr is a maybe (I heard there are asics for that algo now as well), Qubit and Skein should be ok.

In short:
1) Get the right GPU drivers for your card(s)
2) Install mining software.
3) Install the daemon wallet and setup the RPC interface*.
4) Configure output address, the algo (GPU settings could be tweaked, but normally you should start that when it is successfully running) and the RPC interface of a daemon wallet.
5) Run.

* Do note that this is can be a security issue when not properly setup. Setting it up on the same system as the mining software is recommended. Also, the wallet needs to be fully synced.

You could setup solo mining, but my advice is to start looking for a sufficiently large pool. It makes it much more easy and quicker to setup, especially when you're just starting with mining.

Hello and thanks for the information BioMike

I have Googled information on mining Auroracoin and all of the information more or less is outdated and no longer applicable (has to do with the old miner I had and used to work fine). I have tried downloading simple miners and trying to input information when asked for the information to put in.... Is like speaking another language than I understand. So I am still looking for good reliable information on exact step by step guided information on how to mine Auroracoin.

I do already have an Auroracoin wallet, is there any need for another wallet? What is a daemon wallet?
What is an RPC interface?
How do I go about configuring and where does this information get put, what do I specifically write, where do I write it and why?

Thank to any an all in advance.

Kind regards

I have tried downloading simple miners and trying to input information when asked for the information to put in.... Is like speaking another language than I understand. So I am still looking for good reliable information on exact step by step guided information on how to mine Auroracoin.

So, I spend some time on looking how GPU mining worked again (I'm not really a miner myself) and agree that some tutorials would be helpful.
Mining-wise Auroracoin works similar as mining Digibyte. Here is already some links to get you started:

https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/guides/how-to-mine-digibyte/
https://steemit.com/digibyte/@wessel/how-to-mine-digibyte
https://github.com/sgminer-dev/sgminer  <= development on that seems to halted though

I do already have an Auroracoin wallet, is there any need for another wallet? What is a daemon wallet?
What is an RPC interface?
How do I go about configuring and where does this information get put, what do I specifically write, where do I write it and why?

Thank to any an all in advance.

Kind regards

If these things are unfamiliar to you, I suggest to start pool mining and not solo mining. The links above describe that.

I'll see if time allows me to write up some tutorials soon.

I want to point my L3+ To mine aurora coin but I’m really not sure what pool is best to use from Iceland. Any suggestions from the Icelanders in the forum?  Kiss

Is the outdated certificate having a direct effect with the web wallet not working? I keep getting "Whoops" when trying to enter my 12-word passphrase.

I don't use it myself, so I can't answer that. Maybe @ltex can answer it. Try to PM him.

The certificate will be resolved shortly, we had some issues in getting the CSR from our provider.
