Looks like the idea has been around, http://moneropools.com/  Cheesy

That site gave of a virus warning and was blocked by Avast. Was it supposed to? No other pool sites have that I've seen. What it is that site?

I only got a quick view of the warning but said that the infection was javascript based.

LOL that's interesting. Mine G-Data did not warn. It is the site with list of know pools for Monero similar to MainCoins's 'Network' page for Forknote pool. It is written in different way, so I think they were enlighted by the idea floating in the air independenty.

It's very cool. Thank you for your service, MainCoins.

Cryptonotepool.com added it too, and has more pools for Bip than any of the others. I've been keeping a list and I told him a few he didn't have.

MainCoins

Does that site have in-broswer mining? Is that even a thing? lol.

Because a lot of non-virus mining software sets of anti-virus warnings. I'm sure you know this, but for anyone reading: this is because there are a bunch of viruses that mine Bitcoin on the infected person's computer and send the Bitcoin to someone to the virus maker. (Jesus that would be horrible. Your computer would slow to a crawl probably, and noobs wouldn't know why.)

Monero is getting so valuable I wouldn't be surprised of those viruses exist that mine Monero.

Does that site have direct downloads to mining software? If so, that's likely why it set off a virus warning.

But it was odd that the Avast warning said the virus was Java script. Which mining software is Java Script? I know there was a cross-platform Monero GUI wallet that sucked a few years back that was Java I think, but not Java script. I remember trying that. It did NOT work no matter what computer and OS I tried it on. It loaded, but nothing worked when you clicked the buttons.

I did not found anything suspicious. Anyway, I mentioned that site just  to illustrate that idea behind is on demand Smiley You can discuss at monero thread about this site and virus warning. Here it is unlikely that author will appear.

(tl/dr, I am trying to help other people mine your coin):

I tend to talk about anything and everything with people on CryptoNote threads. Because things are so new that many people, including devs, are all still learning and innovating as we go. And when I talk to you on a thread, it's not just you and I reading it.

I wasn't really talking about the virus thing for you, I was saying it for any noob reading this thread who might be trying to mine Karbo, gets a virus warning from YAM,  and says "fuck this! CryptoNote coins have viruses!" and never comes back. That's how a lot of noobs would deal with it. The virus warnings are really scary. The often delete the program completely. I mentioned this in our website's how-to. But most people never read a whole how-to, because it has everything and they don't need everything.

On the BipCoin thread, anything goes that's remotely related to CryptoNote, because so many noobs mine our coins, because they're still mineable and you can actually make money mining them. Only thing I block is spam and trolls, and anyone posting shit over and over until it takes over the conversation for days.

I also don't discourage anything on my thread that's not spam, or trolling. Because one thing a lot of what people look for when judging a coin is a high comment count on the thread. Any comment is good as long as it's not distracting from the overall mission of getting people mining and buying and selling a coin.

I'm doing something right. My coin is the most profitable CryptoNote to mine most days.

But if you want, I will keep things to a very tight and narrow "on topic" attitude on your thread.

There's no need to Smiley We do not discourage discussion on this thread Smiley I don't have problem with other coins mentioned in particular Cryptonote. You are right and you point about virus warning is useful. In most cases it is false warning on miner because sometimes miners were included in virus for hidden mining and now antivirus software can recognize miners as virus or riskware. Maybe on that site is link to pool where is link to miner which avast dislike or something. I just said you can reach that guy there and tell him about false virus warning.

All good man.

Yeah, I really want the CryptoNotes to all do well. I feel like helping one helps them all. I don't hang out on threads of the other 650 altcoins. Only like 5 threads, and they're all CryptoNotes.

You're doing good stuff man. Thank you for your service!

It is surely possible, it's matter of finding provider. For now this site is more proof of concept which will be further developed along with other things towards real world usage and adoption.

Happy New Year! This year will be significant for Karbo and cryptocurrencies in general! Lets make it widespread.
We will continue efforts towards ease of use, adoption, and continue development. We have a lot of things to do. Last year we've been doing well in this one will even better.

It looks like there are still some problems. The daemon crushed after a block was found. Back offline, I hope I will bring it back up today
