mine had same problem too, can't recall which batch atm but it's still under warranty. 11.85 ths version.  mines nicely then hashrate drops, reboot only 9 chips shown n no led on the board. in this case it is chain #1. email to bmt.  captured some screen shots. the other 2 is working fine. sometimes occasional now you see me now you don't x shows but it goes away by itself. grrrr

Bitmain is "vigorously developing AI" according to J. Wu.
https://news.bitcoin.com/advance-chinas-economy-bitmain-ceo/

What would be that AI's warranty [most likely]?
You guessed it....
What can go wrong?

Just how quiet can these S9's be?

Ive got an S7LN that's on 20% fan speed and runs at around 55c on each board. I don't intend on running the S9 (if I get one) at full speed due to electricity limitations but want around 4Th out of it. Would I be able to get it to run as quiet as the S7LN?

Thanks.

Product Shipping: $15.00 >>>>>>>  this is cheap how long to NJ

Cheapest one if you are not in a hurry.  Its depends on the day, may go out via USPS Percel Post, Priority Mail or UPS, whichever the warehouse guys are able to pick/pack the latest.

UPS Ground option be UPS Ground but the last option is a mystery shipping.  The slowest speed be shipping from Denver, Colorado to your destination via Parcel Post via USPS on next business day shipout.

UPS the best option for the warehouse as there is a daily pickup by the UPS and staffs know the cut off time to meet.

one of my s-9's went off line today.

I am going to check on it tomorrow it appears to be the entire unit.

@ bitmainwarranty

I am looking to order 1 psu from your store and maybe a controller after I check on tues I will get back.

what do I pick for shipping?

Next Day Air Saver (UPS): $82.12
 2nd Day Air (UPS): $54.01
 3 Day Select (UPS): $42.81
Ground (UPS): $31.34    >>>>>>>> or must I pick this one?
Product Shipping: $15.00 >>>>>>>  this is cheap how long to NJ

Okay I took the 2 units that had trouble last month since one was dead and the other was attach via slots.

one controller is dead.  all boards on the dead controller  unit do work .  So I will order a new controller and a new psu. from bitmainwarranty.com  the dead controller is the same unit I purchased in August  that a board died in 10 hours.  So far this unit has mined for two weeks and been down or part down for three weeks.

and the s9 controllers are sold the fuck out. un freaking real i will mine with four boards on a controller for now

With BTC dropping I imagine we will see a new batch soon but I'll be damned if I am getting any more of these with the reliability issues.  I'm glad I haven't seen a serious problem yet but still months and months to go before break even.

Sorry to hear your loss....

No offense but it looks super cool with 4 boards! It makes me think why we need another controller in first place. probably can remove it as spare part.

If anyone has shipped a board back to Bitmain via Hong Kong and nothing much seems to be happening, its worth while emailing Bitmain support with your tracking details and ticket number to "remind" them to update their systems.

For the price of a polite email its worth doing before you get too hot under the collar and fire off one less tactful Smiley

With all my dealings with them its worth while keeping the lines of communication open yourself and being polite and reasonable wherever possible.

As an aside, I'd like to mention that @ OregonMines, we've been quite impressed with BitmainWarranty's Denver repair operation, including S9 work. For the first time in awhile, I felt like I was dealing with a company that understands communication and was in front of their tasks.

We're already preparing more work for them, and this has been a very positive development in terms of repair time turn arounds for customers.

OregonMines is expanding. Are you expanding with us?

@tntdgcr,

Thanks for the mention.  Also, Antminer PSU series repair will start soon on full-service.  At the moment, techs' time are allocated to hash PCB repair as priority but soon will intake APW3, APW3+ and APW5 repair. If you purchased PSU from bitmainwarranty.com it will be a slightly more but all first 12-month replacement be provided within USA, Russia, Ukraine, Venezuela and limited area in EU region.

Spending $75-$100 on $120 item to receive replacement can be a bit pricy, so now plenty of PSU and parts are in stock to service larger farms as well.  Excuse our little markup on items but we can't be straw importing goods and sadly American Staffs can't be hired as volunteers.

If you have a dead PSU and not water damaged, please send us a message and will look into it on case by case for the moment.  PSU, regardless of where you purchase it, PLEASE KEEP the original packaging box.  It help protect sending the PSU back for repair/replacement.

i sent psu for repair warranty to bitmain HK but i received psu which has been replaced with used one??, and when i power up, the miner wont hashing..why?? repair/replacement? u make me laugh bitmain. Repair = 0, replace = yes with crap psu.

i bought new one and works ok..so it seems to claim a warranty for psu just a wasting time and money (i posted back and paid import duty cost almost $100).....

Decided to take the plunge and order a brand new S9 today and its starting to look like a dud,

Pulled a working PSU from a S7 I had running and plugged it all in, it powered up with fans at full speed, none of the hash boards have lit up and its not coming up on the network.

Does anyone have any idea of a fix or am I going to have to try through Bitmain?

Try the reset function by putting a paperclip in the little pin hole. That can help and im sure bitmain will ask you to try it.

Also try unplugging power to the power to hash boards and power only the controller. If the controller is alive it should show up on network and give GUI access. If still no access, leave hash boards unplugged and again do the reset.

Remember each time you push the rest button hold it in 10 seconds. The red light next to the reset should start blinking. Leave miner running for at least 5 min to allow the reset firmware to be loaded and start running.
