Still waiting! This is killing me!

My Jan 20 to 31 order was shipped on 01/04/18 and delivered on 01/09/18. I was quite surprised I got them that early.

When ordering PSU only from Bitmain the shipping cost seems very high.
I assume this is because each PSU is shipped separately?
Does anyone know a secret to save on shipping cost when ordering PSU?

Example: 10 x $105 = $1050 + $477 UPS shipping cost.

Thanks. Surprising results when I priced out all the options for UPS.

Qty 6 => 335.87
Qty 7 => 334.2 (Not a typo)
Qty 8 => 381.94

Ended up ordering 7 which means Wu gives me free shipping cost on one PSU. I wonder if they have an off by one error in the shipping calculation cost.

This is going to be a silly question but I have to ask anyway.

For soundproofing (or at least trying to reduce the sound at all!) I plan on building a wooden box with a shelf in the middle.  I'd put the S9 on the middle shelf with exhaust facing towards the back and have a cutout for the fan to fit into so the heat exhaust goes into a compartment that gets sucked out with a fan into some ducting to dispose of.  On the bottom half of the box I'd put the power supplies.  For air intake I'd put a house filter over a hole that I'd use as air intake.  I'd then place that entire box inside another box that would be completely surrounded by insulation so I can muffle the noise.

If that makes sense here is my question.  Would I have a problem just stetting the miner/power supply on the wood itself or should I get some sort of spacer to set them on between the item and the wood.

Any suggestions or tips before I head to home depot and get the supplies to make this?

Try to register on your delivery service website. I recieved notifications from ups days before the bitmain website said "shipped". Knew exactly where it is and when it will be delivered.

UPS also allows you to pay duty fee online, quite convenient. I also have the same issue now with bitmain's webiste saying "shipping" even after I received an email from them with the tracking number. Probably something broke on their website lately.

there are few days between the email shipping notifications and the actual delivery, they have warehouses in different places and it takes few days 3-5 days to deliver the items.

Finally, the 28 Dec batch arrived to me (Europe). It was 3 months minus 10 days from purchase.
Surprisingly the marketed 12.5 - 13 th/s batch actually drives at 14 th/s with temperature below 80 C for now.

Anyone heard any rumors, tweets about a new batch opening? Telegram bot is so silent recently Smiley

Hey, I just switched them on. But after some careful investigation and research, at the moment I cant find any better alternative to Kano and Slush pools. So I plan to split them in each to see how it would go.

Receiving "Socket connect failed: Connection refused" for 3 miners. Bitmain replaced Controller board for 1 of them but now refuses to send me replacement board for the other 2 and are not replying to my ticket for over 3 weeks. Beware of buying into this crap. This is the end of bitcoin and antminers to me.

Dear customer,

We are pleased to inform you that we will release a new batch of the Antminer S9 at 11AM here tomorrow (16 January, GMT+8) and, to help more of our beloved users confirm their orders in the same batch, we will release the same batch again at 5PM here tomorrow!

Do not worry if you miss the ongoing sale (or “morning sale” according to Beijing time) because the second sale today (or “evening sale” according to Beijing time) has an equal stock for all and is also the same batch i.e. it will be shipped at the same time as the ongoing sale.

This new batch delivers a hash rate of 13.5TH/s and the same efficiency of 0.098J/GH. Because of the high demand and the manufacturing period, shipping for this batch will start on a “first paid, first ship” basis, after 11 March 2018. If we advance the shipment, we will notify you.

Important notification for this batch!

USD wire and Bitcoin cash (BCH) payments will be accepted as payment methods for this batch; please choose your preferred payment method within 30 minutes of your order submission, or otherwise, your order will be EXPIRED.
After successfully selecting your preferred payment method, please complete the USD wire payment for your order within 7 days, the Bitcoin cash (BCH) payment for your order within one hour, or, otherwise, your order will be EXPIRED.
When you make an order on the Bitmain website, the system automatically calculates the shipping cost to your address for the products that you have chosen. You will see the shipping cost and can make changes before you confirm your order.

As the stock is limited, we suggest that you confirm your order by payment while stock lasts. For more information on how to place your order please see this article on our website.

We would like you to receive your shipment promptly and so request that you prepare in advance for the customs clearance in your country to avoid delays or even unexpected costs.

Please let us know via support.bitmain.com if you have additional questions or concerns.

We wish you a very happy mining experience.

Best regards,
The Bitmain team

That's probably because the "Socket connect failed: Connection refused" error usually means that your pool configuration is bad (or possibly your networking). Sometimes it can also be the firmware. What pool(s) are you using? Do you have any other AntMiner S9s that are working? What are the firmware versions for each of the miners (Logic Version from the System -> Overview tab)?
