And about the actual fan blower models nvidia/amd is so loud on 70 80%.... I hope that AMD improve it. What do you guys think about it? (don't care, agree? )

I'd say 30mh is really all we're going to get on the 480, but 2 of those for $400 getting 60mh @ 300W is still a pretty good deal. I'm considering picking 2 up, but want something to hold me over for the next month. I'm going to see if my microcenter has any 380's and if they'd be willing to take them back for the 480 when it launches.
It will be less than 30 MH/s. The memory bus is just 256bit, it is lower than the 512 used by the 390. Memory is also a lot faster - 8 GB/s vs 5GB/s or some such bandwidth figure. The increased speed should make up a lot for the narrower bus, and archetecture upgrades *might* make up the rest - or might make it worse - THAT is the real wild card we can't judge without a card in hand. All indications are that it shoud solidly beat the 280/380 and probably the 280x but not sure vs. the 290 or 390. i would guess a right estimate around 25MH at a lower wattage than their tdp, like it was for eveyr other gpu you cna expect to maintain the same hash at 33% lower consumption, this only with etheruem because of the low memory usage If that is the case, it is not worth selling my R9 390 and upgrade to the newer 480 cards. I will wait for the 490. 390 can do 25MH at 120w or lower? no way... tdp for 480 is 150w the same as 1070, but the 1070 can be limtied to consume 100w only, while maintaining same hash it will be the same with the 480, since they both have 16/14nm manufacturing process I have 6x r9 390 on a Asrock H81 mother boards. They are running at 0.977v, 97x/1000 MHZ. The system total is 165 MH/s. Power on the wall 1030 W. But I use 93% platinum power supply. If you assume the system use 100W, each card uses 155W for 27.5 MH/s. So it is possible to use 25MH/s at 120W if you undervolt further. But I did not try. still worse than 26.7MH at 100w, there is no way that a 28nm card can match the same consumption of a 16/14nm card, absolutely impossible, no matter how good is your undervolt besides that 1070 can be undervolted also, and it's probably possible to do 26.7MH with 80-90w I thihink it is worse than the 1070. But it is not worth the effort to sell the R9 390 and buy the 1070.

(don't care, agree? ) I don't find the blowers to be noticeable on my 290s even at 100% - probably 'cause they're all in cases with at least one Delta AFB that IS loud (I forget which model, but it's the 250ish CFM version - EHE or SHE). Loud is a RELATIVE thing, don'tcha know? BTW - compare the J/Hash figures of the BM1385 (28nm used in the S7) vs the LK1401 (14/16nm used in the B-Eleven) before you say 28nm CAN'T match 14/16nm despite undervolt. There ARE other factors involved sometimes - and occasionally a MATURE design at an older node CAN match or excede early designs at a new node.

The voltage of the 14 nm is already lower than the 28 nm.

I've seen the other post of the 27mh on 1070.
There is zero evidence to backup his claim.
Until I see pictures or posts from a trusted user then I will remain suspicious.
I do respect the community - i'll post the picture of the rig with 6 1080s running on windows It will be nice to gain a point of trust in exchange though

I need a new graphics card and was just about to buy one when they announced the RX480. Would be interested to see how this mines etherium or other altcoins. $200 seems like a good deal for this card.

Well for me the Radeon RX 480 is the best option because it (give RX 480) will give 30 mh/s approximately . If you gather 2 cards then we will have 60mh/s on 300 watts. while a 1070 is giving 27 mh/s on linux using 125 watts .
Price comparison of both cards.
Gtx 1070 = 400 $ RX 480 = 200 $
so if we buy 2 cards (2x480) we will have better mining speed then 1070.

By the moment "better" cards will be released and available ETH may drop in price, difficulty increases etc
