Hello, few question from a newbie
Why on bittrex the wallet is in maintenance ?
Do you think gulden will get high or it's better to sell when we can ?

If you're in it just for trading, you should've bought when we were ranging around 3000sats a few days ago. What you do with your trades after that is up to you, although I'm holding long term, as that is what I think is the best chance to see even greater things than 1.6.0.

I made a new account, I was DashLTC but after having sold the last of my litecoin yesterday I have changed my name to this. I am big fan of this coin and Dash as you both doing actual work and improvements and not only talking.

Honestly I'm not that involved with Gulden so I don't really have a say about this, but I've seen Gulden with #1 trading volumes on Bittrex for a while, then now there is only around 12 BTC traded on bittrex. So definitely a drop in the user interest.

However trading volume is only an indication about investing, it doesn't mean that the project is bad.

Not sure what the fuss is all about with this update. Updating the codebase does not make a coin special.

Possibly because the codebase update is only the 10th item in the list, perhaps you can't read properly this would explain why your nickname is missing a letter and how you could be dumb enough to actually support a coin as useless as digibyte a coin which can't even do a codebase update.

This coin doesn't have multi algo and fast transactions. A transaction is confirmed in over 1 minute for dgb and is the fastest coin in crypto.

both of the users must be thrilled by this.

Digibyte has a blockchain with more then 3.6 million blocks , its a big problem for that coin and downloading the wallets have become a major issue for people as they don't have fast sync which came with 0.10 Bitcoin codebase.

This the is reason codebase updates are important.

All eyes on Gulden Prime project because the blockchain can be kept small but with the benefit of faster confirmations then digibyte which has problems with bloating.

No need to listen to me just giving my opinion, buy what you want. Welcome to post about Guldencoin in above linked thread.

170 Million premine in block 1 is 50% of what currently is in circulation. At current rate premine is over $6 million.

Goodluck.
Dude that is for develope and projects and that NLG will never for sale on the market only here https://shares.gulden.com/

If I remember correctly the premine was originally supposed to be for distributing directly to the Dutch people, as it was launched amidst a sea other country shitcoins, with auroracoin being the most spectacular success/failure. Then at some point the dev(s) decided they would just cancel the airdrop and use the funds for "development". Now you're just running on pure trust that they won't change their mind(s) again and decide to use it just to line their pockets at some point. That's nice they have some get togethers with like 20 people, maybe they provide coffee and cookies, and it's nice that you trust them not to dump the premine, but I don't think it's unreasonable for people to not trust the dev(s) not to dump 50% of the available supply of what is nominally supposed to be a decentralized currency. Afaik there's no laws or regulations preventing it, it's just based completely on trust in what is supposed to be a trustless system.

The reality here is that none of the people bitching about the premine would have invested in the coin, EVER!!!!!, it's an excuse to make themselves feel better for missing out and deep down inside they want this project to fail. This is closer to the truth, right Mr jwinterm ?

It's half true, I guess. I certainly wouldn't ever want to be a part of a project with a huge premine, but I'm not trying to make myself feel better.

To be honest I'm not a fan of how often the word invest/investor/etc gets used on this forum. Who makes long term investments in a currency? Sure there are forex traders but I get the impression they are trading constantly. Have you ever heard of a forex person yelling, "HODL!"?

This board started as a place to discuss the development and use of Bitcoin the currency. I've done ok mining my helping out where I can with my four favorite crypto currencies - Bitcoin, Monero, Myriadcoin, and Huntercoin. None of these projects have a premine or ico, and they all offer or were the first to offer unique features.

Am I only allowed to comment about things I agree 100% with? Sorry for intruding on your safe space.
If you would never be part of the Gulden project because of the pre-mine, then what the fuck are you doing here?? Go and annoy some other other poor cunts with your negative bullshit.

Hmmm...this coin has some really great features, guys. The devs seem like decent, principled people as well..seems like a real "diamond in the dust". I just need to ask a couple of questions, if that's ok?

As an investor, could I get some opinions on whether it is a good time to buy NLG right now, or do you think I should wait on a bit?
As a miner, I notice that the algorithim is pure scrypt, which isn't a bad thing in itself, but could be for me as I have a v. small GPU farm and I wanted to also mine NLG. Tell me, do I stand a chance, or is the network ASIC-dominated a la LTC and DOGE? Thanks so much in advance for kind and nice replies!

I mine other coins with my GPU and Dump them for Gulden, only ASICs make profit for Gulden directly.

Oh, thanks for your reply.  You know that people mining alts with ASIC's only dump right? (To pay for the ASIC). That's why LTC can't raise it's head off the floor..

The Gulden community is raising Guldens for SeriousRequest. Want to help out a hand? http://seriousgulden.nl/

This years SeriousRequest will raise money to prevent death by pneumonia for little childeren in third world countries.

Serious Request is a family of annual multi-day, multimedia fundraising events for International Red Cross initiatives, typically hosted by radio stations in the week before Christmas. The project was begun in 2004 by Dutch public pop music radio station 3FM. Serious Request projects have since been adopted in Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, Kenya, South Korea, Austria, Latvia and Portugal.

During the Dutch 3FM Serious Request, three popular radio DJs are locked up for six days in a small temporary radio studio (the "Glass House"), placed in a main square in a different city each year. Living on a juice-only fast, the DJs make an interactive, themed broadcast around the clock, while regular programming on the station is suspended. Instead 3FM and its website are completely dedicated to the event, which is also transmitted as a continuous audio and video live-stream. Additionally there is television coverage, integration with social media, and a dedicated mobile app.

Funds are raised in a few different ways. While the DJs are in residence, they play songs requested by listeners and visitors, in return for their donations. Celebrities and artists also donate personal possessions or performances, which are auctioned off. Straightforward donations are made into the project's bank-account, and by physical visitors depositing cash and cheques into the house's letterbox. Additionally, members of the public run a variety of supporting initiatives, and in some cities more glass houses are popping up. All totalled the Dutch editions have raised €76.8 million.[1]

So be generous and send some NLG for a good cause.  A cheque will be handout to 3FM with the total amount raised.

I can't post on official ann because it's locked but DELTA is working to perfection, the developers have made a differential algorithm to combat multi pools without having to switch algorithm. Simply incredible the entire 1.6.0 release! Well done to the developers!!

Quote
DELTA update:
At block 437500 the new updated version of the DELTA diff algorithm will kick in, we are excited for the changes we have made and expect a positive impact to be made on the blockchain overall. We will monitor the changes over the next few weeks
and provide feedback on DELTA’s performance. The changeover is expected to occur around 4pm GMT +1.
