I think it is very possible, but it need a long time, the reason is because when people say cryptocurrency, then people will say bitcoin, not others. The advatange bitcoin is to be first, nowadays many altcoin but it's hard to beat the bitcoin.

Your comment doesn't really make sense. First you say that it is very possible, and after that you say the complete opposite. I assume you just phrased it the wrong way.

Other than that, no matter how many flashy features altcoins offer, they don't enjoy any actual usage. It's just a gimmick that the developers behind the coins use to interest people to buy into their coins.

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.

I think no atleast for next ten years.Unless bitcoin itself suffers from some critical issues and get destroyed,no other altcoin could replace bitcoin.Bitcoin is a protocol for sending values and it satisfies all requirements to be a bonafide protocol. Its highly impossible for other altcoins to replace bitcoin today.

There's no point to replace it.
I don't think that bitcoin can or should be the best crypto on all levels though. Let bitcoin do the one thing that it's best at.
Other coins will compete for the rest.
Even when Satoshi Nakamoto published Bitcoin, there were no altcoin on that time until Namecoin launched on 2011. It was more than 3 years and Bitcoin was okay till 2011. Altcoin can't replace Bitcoin forever because Bitcoin is a main coin because that's just an alternative.

Yes, Bitcoin cannot be replaced by another altcoin because even there is no fiat currency related altcoin between the exchanges. So it is not possible for any other crypto to replace bitcoin. Bitcoin is major currency and many other altcoins depend on bitcoin.

I think there are altcoins that you can directly trade to fiat like ETH, still I do not believe it will be replace by the emerging altcoins now such as DASH, ETH, and Monero. They have to pass through time and prove how strong they are, based on my analysis the close competition to Bitcoin is ETH and they move in opposite direction so when bitcoin dies, ETH will rise and lead the crypto world IMO.

Right now there is no other currency that can replace bitcoin but there is a full possibility that in future bitcoin can be replaced by some new and innovative currency as we are in era of technology advancement so anything is possible in near future.

I have the same views too regarding on ETH since its the only alt which do have the potential that might able to cope up with bitcoin and incase it will die for sure people will switch directly to ETH or any other good alts which do survive for a long time years for now.

you just should not never say never , everything really could happened especially right now there's a heated issue about how bitcoin could be damaged with two side point of view about bitcoin block size, the debate keep heating and could leading into bitcoin classic version vs bitcoin just like what happened to ethereum few months ago , at that moment some altcoin or even a new cryptocurrency could take over bitcoin place, who knows?

I'm in 400,000 euros debt , dont help me , i rather die

I think it is very possible that there can be another coin that is at the top maybe even be on Topper then Bitcoin currently is just look at it. And how fast that cryptocurrency has grown over the years. Give that a few more years each point and be worth just as much or more possibly less but higher market cap. Each cryptocurrency has a a certain used case for it Faria Miss for applications but going this more as currency and as new ideas or merge and new markets Dr I think it will be possible that there will be more coins at the top.

Even some crypto enthusiasts adopt other coins they would never leave bitcoin easily because they know what is their main priority. Some may shift but they will always go back to the best. Other says bitcoin will replace by altcoins but they are keep on using it.

I also think that Bitcoin will get replaced by something else. As for now, Bitcoin is being used as the payment of choice for many Digital products and the people trying to make money from it are transferring their money into something other than Bitcoin so I think that Bitcoin won't stay for more than 20 years. If Bitcoin does last longer than that then the price of Bitcoin will get very expensive and plenty of people will get attacked online and offline because they claimed to have Bitcoins.

I believe that every altcoin was created aiming to fill a gap that BTC doesn't cover today. Further developments in BTC software can close it, but now the community has a better understand that no coin can have all use cases that we discovered for the blockchain technology and the different way ti implement it.
That being said, look like that the future is multiple coins, each one being the best choice for a specific end.

If the fees keeps on getting higher and higher then may be the users of bitcoin will think of switching to some other currency and we may see some new coin in future which can replace bitcoins and which will also holding better features then bitcoins.

Does it make sense to believe that Bitcoin could one day be replaced by another cryptocurrency, that is, a cryptocurrency that really does make Bitcoin obsolete?

In my view, BTC will eventually be replaced as the number 1 crypto in terms of market cap.  But that's it...  I wouldn't go too far by saying that Bitcon will eventually die anytime soon.
In terms of marketcap gap yes there are some that hs potential to beat up bitcoins but in terms of popularity no coins will replace bitcoin

So you think that there isn't any coin that could take Bitcoin out? I have to disagree because the Altcoin volume is large compared to the ones with Bitcoin. Total up the whole Altcoin volume then comparing it to Bitcoins daily volume and you'll see a bunch of money that is just floating around in cyberspace. I am pretty sure that something will replace Bitcoin because there is more money laying around in the world that people haven't even circulated yet. So if the Governments just quit printing money, then digital payments will start to begin in full effect.

If the governments quit printing money, it might become a bad thing to them because there will not have enough money to pay people that work for them. Government mostly print more money to decrease the unemployment rate of the country. Even when they quit printing money and we start using digital payment more, they will have to add up more and more digital money because like you said, not all money are being circulated.

People in general have savings account and the more they earn money, the more money goes to their savings accounts. That means more money goes out of circulation.

It will become a financial disaster once there is no "physical" assets that can treat as a money so printing is a must, of course with a big concern with the inflation rate.

It's impossible that only crypto must be the working money in whole world since virtual currencies rely only on digital world, yes only with the use of internet. Without internet, virtual currencies are nothing.

To believe (e.g. to be certain) something like that does not make rational sense. To say that is a statistic probability makes much more sense. However, this has been discussed over and over again. In order for the cryptocurrency space to thrive, it would be most suitable if there were multiple coins at the top and not just one (as currently Bitcoin is). Nobody can say that either one will happen for sure; they would only be speculating.
Bitcoin for now is upgrading and its value increases dramatically so thinking that bitcoin would be replaced by other crypto-currencys thats imposibble for know. We all know that bitcoins value is depending to the support of people so many people continue to choose bitcoin than any other crypto-currency. That is the fact and when bitcoin becomes more popular many buisness will be open on accepting bitcoin so it may be the future ot bitcoin. It cant be replaced by any other. Because bitcoin is just starting to grow more.

Also because we are addicted of using bitcoin and use it rather than using any other currency we are unknown of.
This is the main factor bitcoin will not be replaced !

same thing was told about e-gold about 10 years ago and e-gold is the past now. Smiley

Bitcoin will be the past in the next 2-3 years when another e-currency will arise

Right we can expect that happens in near future when we will see some other currency taking over bitcoins which will be holding better features then bitcoin and it will take no time for people to switch to that currency keeping bitcoin behind.

Some people are savers, some people are even hoarders

But the majority of people are still spenders, and they mostly live paycheck-to-paycheck. Saving money as money is pretty meaningless given the inflation rates while the amount saved is more or less constant, depending on a host of factors. What I mean to say is that the percentage of money that government prints due to people saving money should be relatively small. Governments (through commercial banks) typically start issuing more money when the national economy is expanding. In fact, they don't even need to deliberately start the printing press. Money is created inside the system on its own via demand for money (e.g. businesses looking for credit to expand production)
