You have a point and im thinking the same thing too on which those people who was just promoting their own coin and keeping on saying wrong information or fuds that a particular coin could able to surpass bitcoin but those are just false claims and they still continue to fail in the long run on trying their best to compete with bitcoin.

Let such currency be X. Now X will be invented at least 9 years after Bitcoin.
To replace Bitcoin, X should be better than Bitcoin.
Suppose public assume X to be a new potential and invested alot in it. X in turn offer various new features like instant confirmation of transaction, more secure, etc.
But still X will not able to obsolete Bitcoin, it would just be a competitor to Bitcoin.
Bitcoin already grabbed huge market due to first mover advantage. It has become standard for other cryptocurrencies.

Everything with bitcoin as well other digital currencies were highly unpredictable. Till now lots of currencies were getting into use everyday but only very few sustain for a long. So something to overcome or replace bitcoin has low possibility.

Or Maybe TBC Coin? is that it? Even If there's any Cryptocurrency Coin that will replace bitcoin in the future, I'm 100% certain it won't be a Ponzi or Matrix Scheme Coin. Bitcoin excels because It was the first cryptocurrency and it had it's own level of innovative technology. It's open sourced, Publicly available to everybody. Even If people appreciate ponzi and shitty coins now (maybe by  pumping the price) It still wouldn't surpass bitcoin.

That's all just hype... Nothing else. See the ZCash, Onecoin, etc. The owners created HYIPs and Ponzis in the mask of crypto-currencies.

There may come an altcoin in future which may be used as a secondary coin by everyone, but primary would probably remain bitcoin.

There are times where i think Bitcoin is a solid choice, but sometimes i hope a an altcoin that is better and that will replace Bitcoin. Bitcoin has a lot going and proved it is not just a minor thing the internet people play with, but it still has problems. There are solutions to these, but not all of them are convincing. So sometimes i fell like a fresh start would be the best.

If we see to the supporters of bitcoin and the supporters of other coins we can say that none of them will be able to compete bitcoin. the success of bitcoin is much higher than any other coin. It not only depend on marketcap but also depend on the usage of any coin. It is true that bitcoin will be the best all the time.

In my opinion it can happen. Who knows what is going to happen tomorrow. Chances are there. If any other digital currency which is better than bitcoin definitely it can replace bitcoin. But replacing bitcoin is not that easy. Because bitcoin has already created a place in everybody's life. Bitcoin got that popularity because it was the first digital currency launched. I have seen people think that Ethereum, Monero, zCash, Lisk, and the list goes on, have the potential to replace Bitcoin, but it's nothing more than a wild fantasy.

I don't know why people think these coins have even the slightest chance of replacing Bitcoin while these coins aren't any better than all other altcoins that only drive on pumps and dumps.

All things these coins have in common is that the developers in question are the real winners here. It's ridiculous how people can be so naive. It's a greed ruled industry.
