This happens to me frequently.  Huh

I have two NVIDIA rigs.  The rig group works fine one one of the rigs but not on the second rig.

Miner1, 3 EVGA GTX Cards -> RigGroup works no problem.
Miner2, 2 EVGA GTX CARDS -> RigGroup shows error below.

I also try this syntax
Code:
-k x16r -o stratum+tcp://rvn.suprnova.cc:6667 -u user.worker -p workerpass --gpu-platform 0
I found description for --gpu-platform 0:
–gpu-platform 1 – This is an option field to indicate to sgminer which video platform to use. Using 1 as in the example is only needed if you have a built-in video such as with some Intel based motherboards.

As with all things computers, the platforms start with 0, meaning 0 is for the built-in graphics, so we want to use 1 or the AMD graphics cards. If you get an error on startup about finding no platform, it means sgminer cannot find a compatible graphics platform on which to run, this means your probably do not have built-in video or is is not activated. In either case you can change the one to zero, or even eliminate this entry completely. In my example I do not need this option, so I just removed it.

Their example
Code:
sgminer.exe -k x16r -o stratum+tcp://miningpanda.site:3636 -u RGvCLDzUAYPoryFBxd8zwUjJCi4bckQZgg -p c=RVN -I 19 --gpu-platform 1 -L log.txt

You should have improved hash speed with "--thread-concurrency 1024 --gpu-threads 2"

I got this on 4 rigas with nevermore-brian112358-v0.2.2 with XR16. What this can be ?

============ Starting Miner ===============
*** nevermore 0.2.2 for nVidia GPUs by brian112358@github bin run sbin Built with the nVidia CUDA Toolkit 8.0 64-bits

/root/xminer.sh: line 69: 16587 Illegal instruction $MINER_PATH $MINER_OPTIONS
Miner ended/crashed. Restarting miner in 10 seconds --------------

Running 980Ti's by chance? I get the same issue on a 980Ti rig... Enemy however does work...

got the same issue (i reported some pages back already) with all rigs. 1050ti´s, 1060´s, 1070(ti)´s, 1080(ti)´s. all no difference.
enemy miner works.
nevermore, suprminer or tpruvot-v2.2.5 dont.

literally same command line (all these miners are ccminer derivates) just copied over. same error as you posted above. for RVN only enemy works. everything else (RVN x16r Nvidia) crashes with /root/xminer.sh: line 69: 16587 Illegal instruction $MINER_PATH $MINER_OPTIONS

What did i tried:
  • I entered the complete command line manually.
I analyzed in HEX the ascii codes, iE that the spaces are spaces (ascii 32)
i copied the exact enemy line to nevermore (its identical as both are ccminer derivates)
i copied the exacty suprminer 1.6 line which works under windows without issue to SmOS : error as above.
I created a NEW usb stick with SmOS
i checked if there is enough room on the USB stick (it is)
    i turned off any overclocking
restarted the rigs after switching from enemy instead just reloading the miner.
i tried ravencoin mining using ccminer-tpruvot-v2.2.5-x16s-cuda8.0 and suprminer after they got added. It leads to the same error as with nevermore. But the same config works for enemy.

anyway i sent the report in this morning (CET) to admin@simplemining.net including acc+rigID´s.

hope they can find out why it affects some pps while others dont have any issue.

thanks to Tytanick and Mirelle we could figure it out today.
The fix was to add the -t <number of GPUs> behind. iE in my case using suprnova:

-a x16r -o stratum+tcp://rvn.suprnova.cc:6667 -u name.$rigName -p x -i 19 -t 5

[please note in case you missed this: these issues were in case enemy was working but nevermore, ccminer and suprminer were crashing. these are nvidia miners]

Funny enough under windows i didnt had to use -t

This is great news as I have been running Enemy miner on several of my rigs and I am really am not a fan of closed source mining software. SWEEET!!!!

Hint for enable correct undervolting in smos:

Use ssh client to access farm.
Login as miner/miner.
sudo su
mc -c
Find and edit string #95 in /root/utils/oc_dmp2.sh - remove REM symbol (#) before "--memstate" and add "--vddci 900" before "--mvdd 950"
Use your own voltages if presented not adequate for your card (i use --vddci 850 --mvdd 900 for Sapphire rx588 SE with custom bios).
reboot
What about SMOS automatic updates if I do any change in this file? Will SMOS overwrite my changes? Is it possible to disable automatic updates to prevent oc_dmp2.sh file overwriting?

To mine ravencoin, try this, it work´s quite well for 2 weeks without problems:

Syntax simplemining:
-k x16r -o stratum+tcp://minepool.com:3636 -u R9s4TgM3cC3ETzHiCpxobw3QGQJVD6LH2Y -p x -I 21 -g 2 --text-only

I can't get my rig mine RVN with this.... I still get errors
What means --text-only I see that on lots of syntax exemples but don't know how to use that part of syntax.
.
.
.
.
.
.
You should have improved hash speed with "--thread-concurrency 1024 --gpu-threads 2"

sgminer-brian112358-x16r-v0.4.0

-k x16r -o stratum+tcp://rvn.suprnova.cc:6667 -u account.worker -p x --text-only -I 21 --thread-concurrency 1024 --gpu-threads 2
Also I try your syntax and can't get rig running.

I registrated on supernova and there they have syntax example
Code:
-a x16r -o  stratum+tcp://rvn.suprnova.cc:6667 -u Weblogin.Worker -p Worker password

I setup my worker there and it is
http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t490/davor_vfr/suprnova_zpsarif7hyx.jpg

So I try in SM to use sgminer-brian112358-x16r-v0.4.0 with this syntax
Code:
-k x16r -o  stratum+tcp://rvn.suprnova.cc:6667 -u davor_vfr.miner -p raven

Please help - don't know what to try any more.... I allways get some kind of error.

Yes, it's highly possible  Grin
I make copy of this file and check changes after all updates.

Not Support Neoscrypt Algo for Nvidia

Friend, dont be lazy, just go to miner list and look for tpruvot's miner.

ccminer-tpruvot-v2.2.5-cuda8.0

-a neoscrypt -o stratum+tcp://neoscrypt.usa.nicehash.com:3341 -u <yourbtcaddress>.$rigName -p x

Miner Crashed Sorry Error

Just ran it - no issues on my 1080ti.

Check your GPU OC settings.

Or email the dev at admin@simplemining.net
Write to him what miner are you using and exactly what options you entered.
