please do so! and get a post Smiley
don't be so negative, the 5-post-4-hour-rule is there for a reason: to get rid of the trolls. NOT to piss newcomers off.

Hi everyone,

I've been reading this forum up and down and thought it's a good time to start participating finally.

If I could, I'd open a new subject on when to expect the next DDOS on the biggest pools and ask y'll about your back-up pools, esp ones offering merged mining, small enough to be under the DDOS-radar but big enough to avoid a lot of variance.

Difficulty change is near....do we need to prepare for "impact"?

Best wishes,

Yes. It is me.
You all know who I am.
Introductions are not needed.
The only thing I require are profits.
All your coins are mine.
Uhm, what does that even mean?

Hi, I'm mike.

Heard about bitcoins over this summer with all the media attention but didn't have the time to get into it. Now that it seems like the giant boom is over, I thought I might start paying attention to them. It's all very interesting

Hi, I'm Robert W. Bonzi.  I'm the inventor of the so-called Bonzi game.  I'm pleased to meet all of you.
I just discovered Bitcoins and it appears my idea has been implemented by a site called Bitcoinduit already.  I shall be contacting them soon.
Regards,
Robert Bonzi

So I started mining in June when the hype was big; I managed to get together a crew of six high-end AMD GPUs and was really hoping prices would stay high. I did manage to cash out and pay for all the hardware, but then the price died on me. So sad. Now I'm just hanging around looking at BTC from afar and wondering if there's a reasonable chance of making money. I've got about 40 BTC left that I'm thinking to play with as speculation, but all of the miners are shut down. (Hint: drawing 2000W of power at $0.08 per kWh for 1.2BTC per day means that I'd have to see BTC prices of at least $3.2 just to break even; realistically I'd want it at $6 or more given the volatility.)

For me, BTC is purely about a way to make money, so unless something major changes in how we are able to use Bitcoins, I'm not sure there's much else to do with it. I'm working to lose the newbie hat, since I've been lurking over in the speculation forums. Bunch of silly stuff being said there as well, but I might as well work at joining the fun. Welcome to the wonderful world of digital currency.

If you're in it for the long haul and believe the that bitcoin will catch on as a mainstream currency/payment system, then I think you stand to make some impressing gains just by holding BTC.
