If you turn one thing up,  you have to turn something else down, so the power stays the same.

Memory frequency is the biggest positive hammer for hash rate, and voltage is the biggest way to reduce power.

Up the memory speed by 100 MHz, and reduce the voltage from 1000mV down to 950. And then you can down clock the core frequency, too.

You need to keep it all balanced

I need to keep the PCI riser connector into the PCI slot firmly (assuming rig is working with all PCI risers nicely seated).

I am thinking of putting some "quick bonding silicon, glue??" on the connector so that it doesnt move around.

I see same technique used in DIY PSUs so that the solder doesn't get disconnected.

Anyone knows where to get this stuff? Is it a glue gun... I doubt it after Googling it I may be searching for the wrong thing because I am unsure whats this glue or sealant is called.

Thanks

something like this?

https://www.zoro.com/permatex-rtv-silicone-sealant-3-oz-tube-clear-80050/i/G0769903/

not sure i would use it though; its very messy. seems the pcie cable would not come out of the slot unless the rig or cards were moved a LOT.

hmmmm.... I always see it like hardened glue and really keeps things together - its almost "embalmed" like material. It may not be a sealant.

I managed to put a few rigs into a full tower -- these to shipped to ISP.
To minimise risk of risers being loose etc. upon transit, i need to keep it firm and "glued" in.

Thanks Lone... I just had what at least feels like a breakthrough... or at least did for a brief moment lol!  I did a reboot after setting all cards to 1700 in Wattman and 1851 in Afterburner. Still no movement at all on HR.  Then I noticed I was back up to ~690 watts vs the ~625 from before the reboot.  After looking at Wattman, I realized that the State 6 & 7 lowerings I made yesterday were reset. So, I changed them back to roughly what saved me the 75 watts. At this time, I also move the memory back up to 1700 as that was reset too. In addition, this time I moved the GPU frequency slider bar to -10% on all 4 cards.  Started up Claymore again and was happy to see that all 4 GPU's were now up in HR, albeit slightly (from 20.75 to 21.45). But unfortunately, I then checked my wattage and it had ballooned up to 770!  So, I obviously need to do some more tinkering because I am pretty sure that a gain of 3 Mh/s is not worth an extra 140 watts lol. But, at least good to know something has finally affected the HR. Is it possible that the GPU Frequency set to -10% increased my HR? Seems counter-intuitive but I am still learning this stuff and that was the only new change that I made.

It can be very counter-intuitive, at times.  I've seen where I increase the memory frequency and my hash rate goes down, because the gpu clock goes up to where it wants to be (to maximize the power budget) and the overall power budget gets dominated by the gpu instead of the memory.

Voltage is the biggest lever we have to play with, because power is reduced by the square of voltage, and is only affected linearly by frequency.  Therefore,  voltage is more fragile of a factor.   (1/2 * Capacitance * Voltage^2 * frequency = power).

Couple the above equation by the voltage of the gpu and the memory, and it can get very tricky to get the card to do exactly what you expect it to do.

just by strapping them together (pcie riser usb cables) with a zip tie or wire strap(of any material) can give a bit of sturdiness to each connection. never had a problem with them getting loose, to add that these are old boards.

If you are referring to WattMan, it's built into the AMD driver: Gaming -> Global Settings -> Global WattMan.

It's really great except that it reset the settings upon any crash I have.

If I could save/load profiles, it'll would be a nice workaround.

Ethpool pays uncles.  They pay a full block so you need a while to earn the block.

My 450 mh takes three days to earn a block.

But when I get an uncle or a megablock I get as much as 9 coins vs 5 coins.

I have had seven extra payouts maybe 25 coins since April

Ethpool is great if you have good (doesn't need to be great or amazing) amount of hashing power.
Uncle payments and big blocks are what you are looking for on ethpool. You will get one it's just a matter of time

Ethpool is like PPLNS pool - this is my primary pool using Claymore Dual Miner.

My 3.8GHs farm mines up to 3 blocks per day. Used to be up to 4 blocks but with crazy diff levels it's hard keep up.

If you have more than a few hundred MHs, ethpool will be more worthwhile.

It takes longer to get the full block reward due to higher difficulty now but nevertheless, if you have big hash, ethpool is ideal.

ethermine pool is also created by the same guys at ethpool.

If you like PPS like pool, then this is a good one.

Simple and consistent both pools. Nice stats and Android app support. Just plug in your ETH address and off you go.

Pool op (Dr_Pra) is also active at ethereum forum.

Guys, I asked few month ago where to mine with 160mh/s and I went after disscussing with you to ethermine.

Nowadays, I manage 650mh/s, and everything is still at ethermine.
Would you advice to change ?

yeah I would switch to ethpool if I were you.

650 will earn the full block fast enough.

Thank you for the information so far.

I would also like to know where to hash between Ethermine or ETHPool?  Has anyone evaluated this with numbers?

1) Which pays out most profitable?
-Ethermine pays out Minimum: 0.1-10 Ether;  ETHPool pays out at 5 ETH.

2) Has anyone seen Uncles on Ethermine?
-Both pay all Ethereum rewards (Blocks, Uncles & Fees).  I do see that many have seen profitability of Uncles with ETHPool.
-Ethermine advertised 0% fee although I see 1% on their home page; ETHPool is 1%

I am at 300Mhs.  Any recommendations?

Another Question: What Wallet do you use?  I currently use Jaxx that has BTC, ETH, DSH and DAO.  It can change ETH to BTC inside the wallet for 2%.  Does someone have a better option?

By the way, Thank You Phil for getting into this and providing this information.  I have valued your posts all over the forums!

So with 150 mh, I should get 6 more cards to mine at ETHPool ... Roll Eyes

LOL !!!  Grin Grin

Thanks to all of you, my rig has been up for 18 hours, rock solid.

EDIT: Anyone tried to get a replaced with a card with a "bad ASIC" ? 69.1% Anyone has a lower ASIC then that ?
EDIT2: I'm 4 days away from my first block
EDIT3: 150.0 MH/s | 164.0 MH/s | 140.0 MH/s (Getting there !)
