Of course Bitcoin has stayed on the number one position since its inception and appears to have no tight competitor on the market. With Ethereum which shows a direct competition with Bitcoin, it has to achieve another same market volume before it catches up with Bitcoin, thus, Bitcoin's market cap is twice more than that of Ethereum.

In terms of decentralization + technology i agree on this, but bitcoin has sme other competitors on the market that are going well too, i am not trying to create fud or try to create a discussion, but bitcoin has some other competitors on the game at the moment.

Absolutely right mate. Bitcoin has no competitor but it is such a shame when i see members in this forum comparing ethereum to bitcoin and even making claims that ethereum has the potential of overtaking bitcoin. Well they would always be wrong because bitcoin is the King of cryptocurrencies.

The more time Bticoin is alive, the stronger it gets and the bigger the network effect. Sorry but there will not be a Bitcoin 2.0. Bitcoin will go to 100k+ per coin in the next 5 to 10 years, it will absorb all the value researched in the field if not directly through protocol improvements then through sidechains.

Bitcoin will remain the only solid coin. The only coin that survived for the longest time (other coins can't claim this unless they invent a time machine).
There will be alts that pump really hard and make people millionaires, but no alt is going to surpass Bitcoin's strength and solidity. No coin will get a bigger marketcap. In the long term people holding 21+ BTC will be rewarded by history with rich-tier status for seeing the value in it before most people did. Do not let the FUDsters trick your mind or the trolls try to derrail the excellent job being done by Core devs.

Let's continue then our path towards inevitable triumph.

Bitcoin prices are still too expensive for some people, and Altcoin is here to give way to Bitcoin, the presence of many good ICO projects can also make way to get to Bitcoin. so I judge the presence of other coins will not be able to compete with bitcoin, instead they are present to accompany Btcoin as the king of cryptocurancy.

Bitcoin is very stronger and powerful  because this cryptocurrency have strong enough and its hard to make a coins like bitcoin. People want to take and keep bitcoin and not other altcoins for their storing wealth. people use other altcoins only for trading purpose.

I don't agree that bitcoin lacks competition, but I agree that people are too quick to declare that bitcoin will die or lose its top position. Even during the scaling issues bitcoin proved itself to be a good store of value for savers.

Actually there is a competition for bitcoin. The alts are rising up taking a fair share of bitcoin's status. Although bitcoin is leading the market, yet it is not a guarantee that other altcoin is not serving as a threat being a competitor which is trying to steal some from bitcoin. Yet until now none of the altcoins have replaced bitcoin on its throne as being the leader and most popular coin of all. Five years from now, I could still see bitcoin at the top. How about you?

Currently it is still the best bitcoin but we do not know in the future. Surely there will be competition whether it will replace the bitcoin to be the best or not. Just wait time is the knowledge of those who know and the technology continues to grow.

For now the only crypto currency competing with  bitcoin is ethereum and dont think they can even came closer to it in future, lets just see if we will see another competition..

It does not have competition for now but believe it can have in future when the large investors/company  come in to the crypto currency industry and create a unique coins which will be accepted by all..
