Bitcoin has no competition because it is the first and the highest of all. Also the best known and until a genius does not appear I do not think anyone exceeds Bitcoin.

Only being the first cannot guarantee that there is no competitor. There is a high probability that another coin become a better coin than bitcoin by solving the problems that bitcoin is facing with.

When you're the first in something it's just a matter of time before someone better comes along. It's natural for things to evolve and became better.

I think that altcoins are the competitor to the bitcoin if not directly they are indirectly. Due to the huge numbers of altcoins, bitcoin is not getting the desired amount of investment which would increase the market cap and will make the money not to flow into the other coins or icos

I think that's reasonable enough that some altcoins get to compete with bitcoin because some investors are diving their investments and some other just turn to other altcoins because they think that altcoins are more profitable right now.

I don't agree that bitcoin lacks competition, but I agree that people are too quick to declare that bitcoin will die or lose its top position. Even during the scaling issues bitcoin proved itself to be a good store of value for savers.
