Well, looking at the chatter in here... it looks like peeps think that Iconomi would launch when nobody could access their coin without an wallet sync of 13 hours or more? hehe, cmon, get serious peeps.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Guys this is crazy.... I have one of the slowest connections a user could get (1mb or less), and I had absolutely no problems downloading and synchronizing Mist in a single day. Do you actually want to trust exchanges or hope that unofficial wallets will properly handle your tokens or dividends from day 1? No doubt these things will happen, or are being worked on; it's an ETH based token for Pete's sake... even Coinbase will be having ICN functionality.

Seeing folks in a RUSH for this to happen makes me thing you're planning to dump straight away, in which case those functions aren't needed in the first place. It's an ETH token, and will be credited to whatever ETH address you give them, wherever it is hosted... with all the ETH users out there, you mean to tell me nobody here knows how the wallet works?
This is sad...

To help and follow-up, I emailed Coinbase support asking...   Smiley

... for me... I've got my ETH paper wallet READY  Cool

...it wouldn't surprise me if Iconomi launches with their own wallet version already in place...
many people would be very happy with ICONOMI wallet!

Indeed, with 10,000 bitcoins to develop an asset management platform; you can bet it's in the worx.
...That would be a minimum for any asset-management platform IMHO

That would be a very minimum... your ICN are attached to an ETH address and pay dividends in ETH

additional comment:
I indeed look for Coinbase to add ICN for several reasons:

1. They already host Ethereum wallets.
2. Coinbase would be the #1 entry point for American ICN investors because they offer INSTANT features we wouldn't have otherwise using a Czech Bank. (Likely Coinbase will end up a built-in Iconomi Wallet feature)
3. The debit card is an exit point, and an American entry point is needed. (fills a market gap)
4. It would be a VERY EASY addition for Coinbase to implement and increase income for Coinbase.

...if you're about to ask about legality in USA...  That's the Exchange's responsibility here.

I really wish this didn't require Eth. I wish it was it's own coin. Sure it's easier to do it with Ethereum, but ICONOMI does have a lot of funds, just wish this was a brand new independent code. Then there's the Dao fiasco. Either way, I hope this coin succeeds.

DAO cannot happen here because ICN do not interact via smart-contract.

Do you know of another service that can do all that that is not Coinbase? I've been reading too many bad things about Coinbase. Like monitoring where you send your Bitcoins.

How so? I'm not really that up on Ethereum. Isn't smart contract how other tokens interact with Ethereum?

If it's American, you can bet it's KYC... BUT Poloniex is an option, because they require less information being a crypto-only site, not dealing in fiat.  All fiat entry-exit points in USA are regulated.
also... I've been using coinbase for years, and yes, sometimes they ask questions; but the transactions are honored. It's not them, it's simply KYC rules they comply with... all about transparency

Sure, it IS a smart-contract, but doesn't interact via outside contracts. DAO did, which is why it got exploited... get it?

I think I get it.

As for Coinbase, they won't let me buy Bitcoin. I've bought many of them. Hadn't bought in two years, and then when I tried a couple of weeks ago, they won't let me. It's extremely irritating. It can't be anything that I've done, because I haven't done anything in two years. I even sent them proof of address, bank statement. And I'm really irritated that I did, because now I've donated them my information, but I can't use them.

Why would I? Spend countless days crying about Shogdite exploiting my old hacked profile on some dice scam? No thanks. He can keep it... that profile is utterly worthless now. Total fraudsters. I NEVER supported LIR, never will. Moving on...
