There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

Whitelist please. Not sure this does much to keep the riffraff out, all it does is make it inconvenient for people who want to get involved. I've been mining for several months, and finally frustrated enough about not being able to post/respond to people to try and reach my "4 post" minimum.

...2 down.

I finally registered for bitcointalk and humbly request that I be whitelisted in order that I might create a WTB post on ASICMiner shares.  I am very well versed in bitcoin, am familiar with this forum, and am certain I can make some valuable contributions.  I have held bitcoin since December 2011, have accounts on multiple exchanges, and have made numerous posts and comments in support of bitcoin on other websites.  Your consideration is appreciated.

Below is a link to my reddit profile and I am also the dksdan referred to in this tweet from MtGox that got picked up by a number of media outlets.  However, most comments I make are just on random articles for sites to which I do not register so they are difficult to locate.  I am not linking any of my exchange accounts. Hi, here goes my brief (albeit inevitably futile) attempt to get whitelisted:

I have been registered on this site for nearly 2 years, and have browsed occasionally, but have primarily kept tabs on Bitcoin through various other mediums such as Reddit and IRL friends.

I need to be whitelisted so that I can post in a group buy thread, as I recently decided to make the switch from hoarding to actively investing my small number of Bitcoins.

Thanks for your time, cheers.

I would like to be white listed please.

I would like to be able to post in the MutliPool thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=167635.0) as I mine there, but I really tend to be more of a lurker for the rest of this forum.

I keep having to post in (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=200553.0).  I feel like I am regulated to the kids pool.

I have been following the concept of crypto-currencies for several years, and just recently Bitcoin itself.  (And more generally I have had an interest in cryptography for some time.) I have already chatted with many people on the freenode Bitcoin related channels, and have even set up a mining rig for shits and grins. (Looked at a rack server enclosure today--in case I get really serious)  However, I was unaware of any sort of postcount that was required before I could post and interact within the bitcoin community.  Please consider this my request to engage others critically in the bitcoin community.  Most likely I will post/ask questions in the Economy area, as this is where the success of bitcoin will rise or fall I imagine.

Hello Everybody,

I am a lurker, and I recently made an account to buy Avalon ASIC chips.
I hereby request to be whitelisted, so I can put in my order.

Thanks in advance!
