At first I didn't like the concept of newbie restrictions, but I guess it's the best way to only have posts from people who are genuinely interested.

The number of "newbies" recently registered, myself included, kind of worries me about the near future of the bitcoin price. Not sure everybody's here for believing in the concept or even remotely interested in buying things with their newly discovered coins.

Congrats!  Yup, same here, got one (batch #3). Looking forward to posting/sharing about it... I certainly need to make some posts and get out of the newby sandbox Wink

I think this has been mentioned before, but would it be easy to make it more clear for newbie accounts to come here? Maybe a banner at the top, or showing in the "news" area (of course only show it to the newbies, not to everyone). I made my account years ago, but only lurked, and was very confused today when I tried to post.

He can post in the section that you want is not more difficult tothose who use another language. but I do understand that it can serve so that they do not comesome without real interest that can disturb. It should be something ofpatience. Best regards.

El no poder postear en la seccion que se quiere se hace mas dificil para
los que usamos otro idioma . pero entiendo que puede servir para que no entren
algunos sin verdadero interes que puedan molestar. Hay que tener algo de
   paciencia.   Saludos.

Best as I could tell, the Avalon ASIC Batch #3 was "out of stock" and stayed that way, in the early morning of March 27, 2013.  It went back n' forth between having stock or not, for a couple days before then, as orders were left unpaid (perhaps because they only accepted BTC -- seems a few people had time delays/transaction difficulties).  But paying in BTC for a BTC printing press is probably a good idea Wink

Due to a mass of trolling, only established posters are able to post in non-newbie sections. You are considered "established" if you have spent 4 hours online and have made 5 posts (new topics or replies).

If you have really good posts, you can post a request for preemptive whitelisting in the appropriate topic.

Also:
- Newbies cannot upload their own avatars.
- You must have made one post in order to send PMs.
- You need 10 posts to put a link in your signature.

Note that it may take up to 10 minutes for your PM or posting permissions to be granted. (The system automatically checks every 10 minutes and promotes people as appropriate.)

good idea.

I've never seen a forum doing it this way, I think this is very effective against spammers...
