It won't keep trolls out. It will keep two categories of users out:
- Lurkers who just want to ask a quick question or answer a quick question
- Spam bots

I have been viewing this Web Site for weeks, if not months.  Never found a need to post, until now.  The author of vanitypool.appspot.com only lists this forum as a means of contact.  Perhaps posting this message will unlock my account so I can send a PM.  [Do I really have to spam the Newbies area with five messages?  Seems like it sets a bad precedent for users who would otherwise behave nicely.  Oh well.]

I've been browsing the forums since a year, but never intended to post.
Now it's time to post something new, something which changes a lot of things, and I cannot post it due to the restrictions:(
Would be great to pass the restrictions somehow.
