It is my very firm belief that all of our dedication will make BTC more succesful than we can imagine, so much so that I can hardly sleep or eat.

Anyway once I get my mining operation up and running my next step is to work outside of the digital world. I am going to personally go to storefronts and tell them all about bitcoin and its benefits to them, and suggest that they offer a small discount to bitcoin users. It is essential that this is coordinated city by city and there are enough BTC users to make purchases so that we can ensure that these businesses whether they are restaurants or clothing retailers notice a sharp spike in sales.

I am more knowledgeable on the economic side than the technical side, so it would be nice if someone could suggest the most seamless way to transact at a physical storefront.

I hope this is clear, and I hope that you understand the importance of this in making BTC more viable and widespread.

Can anyone preach the truth with me in Philadelphia?

One last thing, I feel so incredibly privileged to be apart of this on the (almost) ground level haha when I know hardly a thing about technology. Everyone here is truly incredible.

p.s. Im dying to participate in the other forums, thanks!

Hi,

I'm GNU/Free software fan and found recently about Bitcoin from a Pirate Party friend and now I'm so exited - got new  HD 5850 already and setting openCL miner now.

Political implications of Bitcoin project are HUGE, this is really something that can help immensely in getting the power back to the people...

How can one help to Bitcoin movement? Is there some "To Do" list of things that volunteers are needed for?

Vassili.

I'm just replying to get my 5 post count full someday... Imo the restriction is bad for the growth of bitcoin as it will increase the barrier of entry to the economy. I sort of understand moderators here, but I think they are trading their convenience for the good of bitcoin community as whole.

I have the same problem with the newbie restriction... i can't post in the right thread ...

I joined the forum because I want ask to slush (in the dedicated thread http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=1976.3020 ) what's up in mining profitability of the slush's pool ...

i know that it's a random value, but in the last 6 hours the mining poll has found 1 block of 45 discovered, when the cluster capacity is 15% of entire network .... is not a too large variation ?

thanks

The one thing that I can say as a positive to the restrictions is that they're at least clearly-defined.  Though I think two hours would be more reasonable as a waiting requirement.  One hour would be best, though.

4 hours does seem like a long time but then, I suppose thats what it takes to wait out the spammers. They think its a long time too!

Shameless attempt to get un-noobed.  Just found out my local supplier of 5870s has run out of the cheap Radeons, shame I only had chance to get one before they did Cry

How is "spending 4 hours online" actually measured? With a counter that stops ticking x seconds after your last http access to the forum server? I mean the server can't know whether I'm still reading that long page or whether I've started looking at porn in the other window (just kidding).
