wow - I just realized that it is more challenging than I thought to convince yourself to write 5 completely useless newbie msgs. Maybe it is an effective filter to keep out people who are not used to writing nonesense posts and attract only the trolls...  Wink

WOW - with 5 hours logged on in two days I have 27 posts and some of you have trouble getting something to say for 5 posts!

Sounds like a "severe personal problem" to me!  Grin

Well no one ever accused me of being a "silent" partner in anything LMAO!

The problem (as I see it anyway) is if you came to the forum for something specific or have input on topics that aren't covered or don't have as much visibility in the Newbie section.

In order to get the maximum amount of activity points possible, you just need to post once per day on average. Skipping days is OK as long as you maintain the average.

Been lurking too.  Was hoping to join a meet up in my area but I can't post in that thread.

Yeah the issue with the 5 post minimum is people just do things like this, (eg my post lol).

I've been logged in all day and using the forums on and off, however it says time logged in = 42 minutes, is there anything I'm doing wrong?

I'm mining using phoenix and have been reading about bitcoin for the past week or so and think this site would be very useful if I could access the other sections.

Thanks Smiley

No I am just an opinionated SOB (999 qualified Mensa member) who has a lot to say on almost every topic known to "mankind"  Grin

Under my real life identity I have published 150+ articles/papers and 4 books.

One of the highlights of my life was to have the book that *I* wrote quoted to me as the reason that I was full or sh**!

After all "they" wouldn't let you publish anything that wasn't true would they? (See pre-WWII Nazi propaganda about THAT issue!)  Cry

Sad facts of authorship at any level:

(1) authors/writers/musicians are the "bottom feeders" of the publishing/movie/music business.

(2) My TOTAL income from ALL of my publications was US$250! My experience is typical. Sorry folks.

(3) "I HATE writing, but I LOVE being an Author" Mark Twain - the PERKS are incredible though LOL. I never gor to use a private jet/rail-road carriage like he did though  Undecided

Yes, the 'Total time logged in' counter is annoyingly inconsistent in updating.

4 hours is indeed a long time.  It doesn't even seem accurate, is the forum aware of every moment that I have the tab open or something?
No it's not.  I have been in here for months and it still shows me at under two hours.

Yep, I've been browsing the various sections for quite a while now (pretty much the whole weekend) and I still only show 2 hours and 54 minutes.

I sort of understand the newbie rules, but I feel they may favour discourse in favour of Bitcoin. I want to see real discussion about it, but so far I have mostly seen a lot of KoolAid drinking going on.

I seem to be having a problem.  I'm just here to PM [Tycho] for help with a problem on Deepbit.net (it won't send me my confirmation email), this being the only method to get help.  I've posted one post, and I still can't PM him.  Did the rules change since the first post on this thread?  Do I need to make more inane and pointless posts somewhere before I can PM him?

I appreciate the need to cut back on the spam, but I'm just trying to get my coins out of Deepbit.net, and the number of steps involved in making that happen is starting to get rather silly.
