How do you know which coin received their byteball share? What if someone move their coins to new address every round? will he receive byteball again?
In the Byteball wallet you receive your coins/share.
You have to link your Bitcoin address (many if you want).

Bitcoin + privacy respect = BitcoinZ (topic BitcoinZ)
The only decentralized crypto that complements Bitcoin on privacy.
You missed Bitcoin in 2009 ? Do not miss BitcoinZ in 2018 !

Is the Byteball team planning on starting up another campaign for bounty people who want to get started into this?
I missed the signature campaign as I was a late comer into knowing it's existence of the project.
I think it would help me get in to how it all works.

Appreciated for any advice on how to get into the byteball groove of things and how it all comes together! Smiley

Thanks!

Read about the distribution model on the first page of this thread.
There have been 6 airdrops, only 25% of the coins have been distributed, there will be a few more, next one is on July 9th.
To get ready, follow the steps in the first post.
Or this guide I made:

First it's important to know that you can participate in multiple rounds with the same Bitcoin. If for instance the Bitcoin was moved to a different address every round, then only the address with the Bitcoin linked to it will receive distribution.
So someone with 10 btc could claim byteball 6 times already (in case if he moves coins to new address every round)?

Yes, but he doesn't need to move his coins anywhere. In fact, it's better to not move them because they are already linked in that address

No. There is a snapshot of the BTC blockchain before each distribution starts. You don't need moving your BTC and you can't cheat moving your BTC.

I received my blackbytes and I think they are very cute. What exactly can I do with them now? Shall I just hold and collect them in each airdrop then later trade them with Peeps that like all these anon things?  Cheesy

That is exactly what i am doing. It seems to me blackbytes are worth more than bytes in the long run, but that is just me. Again I am confused why you need to have both, but whatever.

Black bytes have the advantage of being able to be sent anonymously and without detection, but the downside is that these tokens can only be transferred if the sender and receiver have paired their devices first. So a payment to a random receiver without the receiver involved is not possible. In fact, I believe the receiver needs to set up the payment request in order to transfer black bytes.

Search for 'Byteball payment' on YouTube to see this in action.

Haven't sync'ed my wallet for a 1month, seems it takes forever to get sync'ed... performance is an issue!

Yes, but you don't have to run a full node and can switch to a light wallet which syncs in a few seconds.

You dont' need a full wallet for an average use. Switch to a light wallet.

How to switch to a light wallet? Is it a different wallet or is it done in the full one?
What is considered a light wallet?
One that doesn't download the entire blockchain of the .dat file?

I didn't think byteball had a blockchain, just the DAG and witnesses??? I will admit I haven't fully dug into all the terminology though.

I installed the light wallet because I heard the regular wallet took forever to sync... not sure what you are syncing if there are no blocks though....

Yeah that is some strange terminology to the ones who did not follow it from it's very start.
I have been just into to many coins right now and doing sia's wallet right now and it's been trying to sync for the last 2 hours now. 100GB from what I last read up on it's .dat file.
So the light wallet for byteball shouldn't be that big, since it started late last year and not over 2 years of data needed for this wallet to sync with on their type of blockchain.

The light wallet does not download the database (not 100GB but around 5GB at the moment). It synchs in a minute and relies on a "home hub" for the database. You can choose the home hub of your choice see https://byteball.fr

Should probably change market to Mbytes instead of Gbyte, the high price is probably scaring people away.

You can't. It stays linked forever but you can link another address (actually as many as you like).

I think it's important for people to know that byte is the real name of the currency being traded right now, whereas Byteball is the name of the entire platform. As explained by @kaicrypzen in the speculation thread:
How many Bytes equal to one Byteball I'm so confused as to how to count this coin. And blackbytes? how do they work and are they the same currency as byteball? Thanks, guys!

There is no such thing as one Byteball ...
Byteball refers to the whole technologie/DAG/app/software. Byteball comes with two built-in assets/currencies, bytes and blackbytes. What you can find traded on exchanges is GBYTE which is GigaByte which is 1 000 000 000 byte.
Blackbyte is a private untraceable asset.

Thanks btw.

No need to move around, just register once and every airdrop you are entitled to receive new byteballs, does not even need to re-register.

Reposting from slack for visibility.

Byteball, so far has no formal governance model. BUT! It is ripe for having THE BEST governance model - due to the witnesses system.
The witnesses are the rule enforcers, but the users area the witness-selectors. Revolutionary, more than "smart conditional payments"
this inverted model of power... is Byteball strength, killer feature.

See, bitcoin is rule-enforcing, and has no clear rule-makers, Ethereum has, and we know The DAO. Most tech which has a Foundation, that is the rule-makers. Those are the governors, the rule-makers.

Byteball, you dear users, the amount of transactions you can make, ie the amount of bytes you have, is the amount of POWER you HOLD. Over, witnesses, which are rule-enforcers only.

Start using https://byteroll.com/ as your hub today, select the BEST witness! Bringing you the best insights!
