I downloaded the latest wallet release and needed to re-sync the wallet.  Seems to be stuck at 670 block height, anyone else experiencing this, and how did you resolve it?

I have deleted the appadata\Roaming\Zcoin folder multiple times to try and get beyond block 670

Running windows 10 pro 64-bit with release v0.2.0 qt wallet for windows

The way to get past block 670 is to run it with in cmd with zcoin-qt.exe -reindex

There's a bad Zerocoin transaction in that block that's causing the connections to drop but the reindex lets you push past that.

Once that is done, if it hangs again, just close the zcoin-qt and open it up again (but don't reindex) and it should progress. The situation should get better as more nodes update to the new version.

We're looking into the issue once the fork is done.

What is the inflation model of ZCoin?

There are currently circa 1 million coins. How many will there be in 12 months?

Thanks

Same as Bitcoin
50, 25, 12.5 etc etc etc every 4 years or so.

no block source available my wallet says. MAc computer.

Help me please, i won't deposit my XZC to my mac wallet until i know what is that "no block source available" thing.

That just means that you aren't connected to any nodes. Are you behind a firewall?

Boah it rescans all time the blocks.
Something was wrong when you made the copy CjMapope.

2TB this stupid client wear my SSD now..dev please really fix this odd behavior of this client this is killing drives in short time.

sorry haha, theres another reason to not download shit from others i guess :/ :/  (only official sources)

Could you please so kind to do it once again this way:

Do the snapshot as follows:
Close the client
copy blocks and chaindata, database and peers.dat that would be a fix.
I had this similar behavior on bitcoin..but not that much of wear level to an drive this is really insane.

Thanks

kk i highlighted those 4 and turned them into a zip, uploading now eta 20 mins

here you go, hope that works Smiley   https://mega.nz/#!a4ohlTYI!lXV7tZqmJqqAKLM2xPmAeDAQADIcSUwM8ZcnOm9yBNM

Currently bootstraps don't work that's why we haven't released any but we're looking into it right after this fork. Also a side note, rescanning blocks doesn't wear out SSDs, write cycles do. You don't really need to keep on redownloading the blockchain.

@djm34 has released his Windows binary builds for his miners both for Nvidia (ccminer) and AMD (sgminer)

Nvidia miners: https://github.com/djm34/ccminer-msvc2015/releases/
AMD miners: https://github.com/djm34/sgminer-msvc2015/releases

djm34 was engaged by us to do this so his binaries should be clean.

@Tourgasm, a community member has also has released 64 bit version for the Windows

https://github.com/Tourgasm/xzc-ccminer/releases/tag/1.8.4x64

Thanks. Same error as ZCash and Zclassic thinking BTC inflation model is good to emulate.

Very hard to invest because it's extremely unlikely individual coin value will increase in year 1.

Whichever zero knowledge coin implements a lower starting inflation model will win imo but good luck.

what is the differencw with this https://github.com/Tourgasm/xzc-ccminer/releases/tag/1.8.4?

the difference between the x64 version and the x86 version is a few things

1. you get a small increase using the x64 version

2. the x64 binary works with 5.0, 5.2 and 6.1 compute cards (Geforce 7, 8, 9, 10 series)

3. most people are using x64 windows now a days anyways.

i was not talking about that, i thought it was different in the sense of optimization, with better hashrate
