Suprnova closing XZC pool.

"This pool will close at 12/31/2017 - please move your miners to different pools and withdraw all remaining coins, thanks."

WTF, why?

If you are referring to zero (equihash-192,7) then the pool you are looking for is http://zero.forgetop.com

Any miner with a little mind would know that mining at other pools is going to kill the profit. Why would you wanna mine at a different pool?

This coin looks good. I will maybe invest on it next month if i will have enough money. The zerocoin is already implemented? I mean we can send coins and be untracked?
it really is a nice coin.i miss it when the price is low.it is expensive for me now.i will find next coin.

Zcoin is better than ZCash. If zcoin's marketcap reaches zcash's marketcap (And I think it can happend), then the zcoin price will be $300.

The price still low....
Time will tell

Greetings, friends at Zcoin!

As Komodo Platform has been working around the clock to fine-tune the multiple GUI's that are the face of our Agama multiwallet and BarterDEX atomic swap protocols, there have obviously been many bugs found and many debugged. However, one bug in particular was found not only in our Agama GUI wallet, but also in the zcash4mac GUI swing wallet. It is a simple bug, but it warrants your attention. This is a potential money cost bug, and as a Bitcoin-protocol cryptocurrency, your GUI wallet(s) may be susceptible. We are reaching out directly to the developers and communities of the 60+ coins featured on Agama and BarterDEX as the bug may have a direct impact on you (via your own wallet).

watchonly-GUI bug: 'watchonly' addresses appearing as your own in GUI wallet; users could potentially send funds to the address, unaware it is not theirs or available for withdrawal. You can import <any address> and it becomes a 'watchonly' address. The GUI will display the address as yours, add its funds to your balance, and accept deposits, but cannot be withdrawn. This could be a normal address, my address, a p2sh address, satoshi's address, etc. This can be confusing to an end-user and will lead to many headaches for the developer, as is always the case with misplaced funds.

FOUND: in Komodo Platform's Agama multiwallet (fixed) and zcash4mac GUI swing wallet (@jl777B: "newest QT wallet seems ok about watch only, but not sure of older and when it was fixed")

ex. @grewalsatinder found the bug in his zcash swing wallet: https://i.imgur.com/sVd0QTL.png

Quote from: jl777B
"satinder used zcash4mac, ie. the zcash osx GUI, not ours... the assumption is no GUI out there properly handles watch only addresses, until proven that they do... agama also had this bug, which we found and fixed, so it seems a very common bug to have"

SOLUTION: For the 'watchonly' address or any address not yours, the value 'ismine' returns false. Any such address gets filtered out.

QUESTIONS:
  • How does your recommended GUI deal with watchonly addresses?
  • Does your GUI display watchonly addresses as different than actual addresses in the wallet?

We need to experiment a bit to see which approach gets a better response triggering the bug. People WILL lose money if they send funds to a watchonly address.

Quote from: jl777B
"the t3 addresses in the 'Own Addresses' column! and they absolutely cant be as they are p2sh addresses. it is clear proof that the bug is very real and anybody that understands a p2sh address will understand it cant be something in your wallet. it is usually a multisig address, so only if it is a 1of1 multisig (possible but very silly) can you have a p2sh address that is spendable, but the wallet wont even know it... normal addresses can also be watchonly, which makes this even worse. in that case it would appear in the list of addresses just like all the others. even if you are able to spot p2sh addresses visually, it wont be enough"

We want to spread awareness and facilitate discussion of this bug to minimize the impact.

Of course - we can always talk about how you can use BarterDEX today to trade Zcoin via atomic swap directly with your peers, through our beta GUI and without downloading the entire blockchain ; ) That is how we found the bug, afterall.

Stay safe,
Jay

Hey ocminer, may I suggest don't close your zcoin pool just yet, if you switch the payment to PPLNS system and see what's what for another month, maybe more miners will come and the hashrate getting bigger? I'm not a big fan to mine on MPH for the hashrate seems very very low then my hashrate on my miner side. I hope other miners will support you to spread and decentralize zcoin network hashrate  Wink

I really do not understand your comment, are you suggesting that MPH is the best option (and only option right now)? I am mining VTC with MPH and the earnings are pretty close to what I estimate by hand with the reported hash rate on my rig, however this is not the case with their XZC pool

Solo mining Eeror . Help me plsee.

Has anyone successfully solomined this coin using GPU's?   I followed the guide:

https://zcoin.io/solo-mining-zcoin-guide/

but i'm getting this error:

JSON-RPC call failed: Method not found
get_work failed, retry after 30 seconds

All ports are opened on the wallet system and mining rig (both windows 10).   I've solomined a few other coins before so I know how to set it up, but can't seem to get this to work .

using DJM34's latest ccminer.

ccminer.exe -a lyra2Z -o 192.168.1.10/8888 -u zcoinrpc -p zcoinpass

my zcoin.conf file:

rpcuser=zcoinrpc
rpcpassword=zcoinpass
rpcport=8888
gen=0
genproclimit=0
server=1
dns=1
listen=1
daemon=1
rpcallowip=192.168.1.0/24

Look at the price today https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/zcoin/
Everyone should focus on trading, you can receive more and more profits than mining.

yes for znodes to be effective there will be one around 23 dec.

Is this hard-fork going to introduce MTP mining or does ZCOIN continue using lyra2z?

If/when it changes to MTP are there any miners available for it yet?

Crypto currency enthusiast and miner since 2015. Mined approx 200 ETH during 2016 and 2017 and sold it at approximately $US40 each. Then I watched it reach $1000+ each. If anyone bothers to read this stuff pay attention to this: HODL HODL HODL HODL HODL HODL

I started mining with 1 AMD 7950 and 1 R9-280X. Then I gradually built my AMD operation into 12 R9-290s. Awesome ETH hash but ridiculous power consumption and heat. Over the last year I defected to the Nvidia team. I now use GTX 1070s. They were expensive to buy (probably a bargain now) but awesome hash rate vs. power consumption. blah blah blah blah
