I'm looking at picking up a few 750ti's.  Any recommendat ion on the brand? There's about a $30aud difference between them. Any hash rate increase over one or the other?

I'm not ready to "publish" anything yet but if what I'm finding turns out to hold I'd recommend buying 750ti boards with the external 6 pin connectors on them.

Default setting use roughly 38.5 watts max but I'm able to push them to 60 watts and more right now if they have the external power connector.

I won't have a chance to play with different algos to see what affect it has on each (ie Quark, X11, etc) until the weekend.

But if you don't mind using external power connectors (one 6 pin per card) then I'd suggest buying cards with these connectors.

Interesting, seems the ones with the power connector are a little more future proofed.
Thanks for the advice.

How would one go about connecting 6 to a single psu?  When most psu's have only 4 pcie ports. Could 4 pcie ports be used and 2 molex to 6 pin adapters be used?
I have a 850w psu,  would the rails be able to handle that?

Are you saying that boosting the power by any other means is impossible? or just not what you are working on currently with some kind of maybe hardware bypass?

I know it was implied, but are you saying that a rise in available power to the card would offer some substantial gains in your testing as well?

You may not really want to answer these, or maybe not definitively at the moment, but a little stated clarity would go a long way.

Also if you can at least give us a possible timeline for some clarification if possible, because I was thinking of buying some more cards for a second rig, and this would certainly influence that.

Last request... can you state the card you are at least testing with so we would have the best chance of duplicating the result with no unforeseen problems?

Thanks for the heads up though.

Most of these cards come with an adapter to use two 4-pin molex connectors instead of the 6-pin.

Just have to spread them out across multiple strands if you have a multi-rail PSU.

Would depend on the coin and what is being pumped through it, but mining JPC my system pulls 370 now, and an additional 22 per card (132W total +) would put it at basically 500W. If the mining increased at the same rate without losing efficiency (which would be a big stretch) it would bea 57% increase in hashrate.

A 2.1 Mhash/s X11 card would jump to approx 3.31 Mhash/s.

If it held true for Christians Killer Groestl + which is running 2.8 Mhash/s I believe it would hash at 4.42 Mhash/s.

Would certainly be a real game changer.

Doubt it would be that efficient as stock is right now, but those would be the optimal estimates if it scaled.

gigabyte 2 gb version non oc are ok, imho oc is overprice, you can oc your cards for free no need to waste money on this

Guys, the power supply to cards is not the limiting factor of their performance in almost all cases with the 750s. You will run in to stability issues first, judging by most peoples' experience. You would also have to mod the BIOS to raise TDP. Remember that for a lot of people the cost of power will end up offsetting any tiny gain you get. Look at cryptomining blog and elsewhere, they have tested this. You are better off getting something like a palit dual x which doesn't have the 6pin and performs better clock wise than almost any other card, even at stock.

Fortunately for me I don't pay for power so the power cost  isn't a concern for me. I'm only looking at the initial power cost vs hashrate.
Thanks for the replies guys Smiley

I believe you can raise the power limit in afterburner, but in the BIOS it is set to 38.5, so that's the base 100% it's working from I believe. I've not done it myself as my miner runs Linux.

I've got a 750ti OC edition and a 660ti power edition.  I can raise the power limit to 114% on the 660, but the 750 caps at 100%  The voltage can be bumped up a bit, but of course that's different.

Just purchased an Asus GeForce 750ti as a test mule and to wet my feet with Nvidia. There's not as much info for setup with these cards as much as the amd cards. Can someone point me in the direction for setting up these cards with the newest ccminer?
Thanks for the help guys, looking forward to tinkering with these bad boys

That is the good part you just do not have to teak them as hell. Just poolname, username and password and maybe some slight OC with Afterburner.

Just read the last 45 pages of this thread.... Really nice work going on here and it is showing that Nvidia is a real force.

Thanks for the info  Smiley I take it the Asus 750ti is a compute 5.0?

Six pin is useless...don't go nuts over stupid stuff.
Raising tdp only hurts efficiency and it's a waste of time.
If you have a massive farm you can't fiddle with stuff like this, instability is your enemy, so it's not scalable anyway...

No pci-e connectors means cheaper psu's, since you don't need to use external power, and that also means less risk of catching fire when using chinese pci-e to sata or molex adapters when you run out of connectors.

What card do you have and which ccminer are you using?
If you have a 750ti, use ccminer50.exe. If you have a 760 use ccminer30.exe.

Actually "killer G" is more efficient than current grostle implementation. Cbuchner1 did a comparison a number of pages back. So we will get more for less

Using the Asus 750ti with ccminer50.exe. I noticed that its not actually accepting shares but its hashing. Not being used to ccminer and only using AMD cards i didnt realise that ccminer should say yay after an accept. Its only hashing with no yay  Smiley
