Off topic but if anyone is good with metal, and wants to make a cheap skeletal mining frame, this is what mine looks like at the moment

so thats how my cards currently sit, its not finished yet but its getting there. For the top and bottom plates i used some spare 2mm stainless steel
for the legs i used M6 all thread, entire thing cost around £20

bare in mind that mine only houses a psu and gpu's as the usb cables run off to my main system, and a pic of that for anyone interested

so the 3 usb cables at the bottom feed into the case, then into the x1 risers. ooo and the red and black cable feeds from a dual psu adapter to the psu with the cards

Their just normal 2m usb 3 cables :-)
i had help finding out that 5m wouldn't work, as i had my base in a different place. so i moved my base closer, and i actually have around 200mm of extra slack.
if you want a picture of how close they are i will post one.

the case isnt entirely finished. i have got to have a brace made to told the pci slot screws, letting me keep the gpu's straighter and add the last bit of strength to the cards.

Main advantage of this method, you can make the sections as wide as you want, and since you can get very long lengths of all thread, you can easily make a giant stacking tower :-)
want another layer, just cut the plate and get some longer all-thread!

the code you write to do the hashing, can you have that not under GPL?
Or would it still be under it because code from another open source project?

if not surely you could provide everything as now as GPL and just not allow access to the actually hashing code. I'm unsure how the GPL rules work with stuff like this

no dynamic or static linking of hashing code to cpuminer. Named pipes or RPC via sockets would be permissible...

mined within 20 hours or so, with 8% of the current AnimeCoin network hash rate
(I added my 3 GTX 780Ti cards this morning only). BUT... it's not proftable.
I'll stop at a million coins.



Well, the coin is worth 2 satoshis. It would take 25% of the network hash rate
to make any decent income per day.

I could charge for GPL licensed software, yes, but I would have to give anyone the source code on request

This has a couple of side effects for us

a) people can remove any "developer fee" code we might have added and distribute fee-less binaries.

b) AMD miners can steal our mojo (because they have source code access and do a straight port to OpenCL)

c) people can redistribute this without charging, circumventing any software storefront we might have set up
for the initial distribution.

and we couldn't do diddly-squat about a), b) or c) (it's all considered legal)

So it's clearly not the way for us to go. And besides, we don't have that miracle groestl yet. It's under development.

we're working on a KILLER groestl, requiring a deeper understanding of the hash algo.
When done, everything else will be toast.

This would turn quark, X11, groestl, myriad-groestl into CUDA coins.

I solo mine that with ccminer. No settings to set beyond choosing the algorithm.

yeah, that could be a problem. There's not a strong buyer's market. nxt-e.com seems to be the only exchange with a bit of trade (0.25 BTC per day or so).

Not so good of an idea for nvidia miners, specially 750 ti cards. scrypt is amd's territory, specially with the amount of miners and farms that mine scrypt already.
