Aye! Ten more days till shipping time. Let's add more pillars to the BTC network... and get rewarded in doing so. I leave you with this pic, gentlemen.

It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Indeed, reason to celebrate, good sir.

Is anyone else waiting to get confirmation from Avalon for a Batch2 purchase?

Tried to confirm my order by messaging him here, at his request, 6 weeks ago... and created a support ticket 2 weeks ago... both have gone unanswered.

The units were paid for 2 months ago... and besides WalletBit confirming the purchase, via email, at my request... nothing.

Anyone?

WalletBit confirming the purchase

You are good. They have repeatedly said if you got Walletbit confirmation then you are good to go. Hopefully they hire some help soon so their ticket system is no longer a black hole...

Yep that's what I got from Yifu, so I stopped bugging him. Trusting them not to ship my batch 2 to Afghanistan.

That news-letter stated "We plan to start shipping majority of batch two orders starting on 15th of April". I'm curious when they plan to FINISH shipping batch #2 i.e. will it take 2 weeks or 4 weeks to finish shipping the entire batch.

I'm wondering whether batch #2 shipping will start on time given there's been no notification to trade-in customers to send their FPGAs and batch #1 shipments are still being finished off.

Hmm that is a good point. I guess the trade-in notification will be the first sign of progress on batch #2 and with only 10 days to go, sounds like we might be in for another delay since I would assume they'd need a decent amount of lead time to received all the trade-ins before shipping. Part of the fun with bitcoin is having no idea what your actual position is since everything is constantly up in the air Tongue

...batch #1 shipments are still being finished off.

People keep saying this but it's been made clear that the outstanding batch #1 units experienced shipping problems and are being RE-shipped. Batch #1 shipping was completed awhile ago.

Could you point to me where you can see ASICMiner's hashrate? I've heard they plan to have 1000Thash/sec by the end of the year :O

I heard 400000000000000000000000000000Th.

Actually they're hoping to add another 256Th last I heard. 7Th online now another 5Th in chips on hand, 50ish coming this month/early May and 200Th of chips on order, but they're also planning to auction hardware. It was unclear if those chips would come from their most recent 200Th chip order. Anyway some of the guys put up a googledoc here:

whoa, whoa people! I don't want to ruin your party here, but still not everyone got their avalons in batch 1. So it took them nearly 2 months to ship most of them. You hope batch 2 will be faster? Please state why (no trolling implied, honest)

We plan to start shipping majority of batch two orders starting on 15th of April. Not all the news is bad news however, originally around this period we are suppose to take this time to organize, make some changes and install a brand new SMT line in our facility. This upgrade will effectively double our production capacity, it enable us to put Avalon into the hands of our customer even faster. The new line is currently scheduled to come online during the last week of April. We expect batch two and three to ship much faster than batch one mainly there is no Chinese New Year and we have overcome the problems encountered in shipping batch one.

Time will tell I guess, but these guys are the only ones to deliver thus far.

Speaking of this, what do you suppose would be a good way to ship one rapidly into China?  I know DHL is good for shipping *from* China *into* the US...Do you suppose they are an equally good choice going in the other direction?
