what would the expected shipping time be? I understood that batch 1 started shipping in late january and most people have got them by april. So 2 months is reasonable?

In their newsletter they mentioned that they used the profits of batch 1 to buy new equipment that will greatly speed up production and allow batch 2 and batch 3 to be produced and shipped fast. I can't wait for the ship date, and lets hope that everything runs smoothly and they get these things out quickly and painlessly.

Is anyone else worried that Avalon will not actually start shipping when they said they would? I'm starting to feel like a BFL customer with delay after delay after delay.

Patience.
They will ship. Sit down and relax. I expect first units to be shipped by the end of the month or early next month.
They are good at what they do!

i think anyone who ordered is concerned about the shipping date but it will be what it will be.  just try not to count your money before you have it and you will be more relaxed.

avalon does not deserve to be compared to BFL when it comes to delays though.  i ordered from BFL 9 or 10 months ago now. crazy.

From avalon newsletter:  "A week before batch #2 is ready to ship, we will make an announcement to those who wish to trade-in their last generation units to sent in their units..."

we're at least a week or two out until they request upgrades be sent in

It seemed like a good idea at the time.

I keep dreaming... To really get an update.

There is not a lot we can do.

I guess that we will understand what "starting to ship the majority on a x day" means.

Yes, if everything goes according to plan, I think the earliest shipments would be month end. But it would be nice just for once, for an ASIC vendor to actually "fully" meet their targeted dates

OK, I had a dream tonight. It was bitsyncom holding a conference, batch 2 is already built and will start shipping tomorrow in a fast way, just like the newsletter that announced the delays said.

What a dream, I wake up immediately.

I wish you were right. But the fact they haven't asked for trade-ins yet has me worried. Please update us BitSyncom! I'm a batch 3 customer, but if batch 2 gets delayed, so does mine. Cheesy

Disclaimer: I think that the Avalon team shouldn't even be compared to BFL and other more or less scams. Yet I feel their focus is more on building up their own production line than delivering Avalons whch were or are means of getting them funded.

I still see good chances of my Avalon purchase getting a success, BTC-wise which is all that counts for me.

We should thank Avalon of at least being ONE counterweight to ASICMiner. I guess team Avalon will be able to enjoy some time of good earnings before other big players kick in (helveticoin and whatnot).

Well, you can not underestimate the problems they might encounter. Some machines may need to be fixed due to problems.

500 Machines, that is a lot. Lets imagine they are producing since 30 days, thats about 17 per day. Or they got their new SMT ready, then maybe a few days less. Doesnt reduce the time to check the machines for errors! Thats all a very time expensive thing to do.

Seems cogs are turning in the Avalon 'machine', my support ticket to get my orders added to my store account (they were missing, but I'd received WalletBit/Yifu email confirmation), was just handled and they've been added.

Great news. May I ask if you ordered on February 2 or February 3? Also, when you say "store account" do you mean here?

http://store.avalon-asics.com/

I'm just trying to get a sense of whether they're going in order and adding those early orders one at a time. I know I submitted a support ticket for my 2/3 order(which has not been added yet), but it was a forever ago.
