Here is the reason it is temp shutdown. It wasnt even a hack. It was an exploit that some people started taking advantage of.

They have to manually go through all accounts and investigate who was using the exploit to double up their coins. Bad news for you if you were one of the ones that did this exploit. You will lose all your investments.

Good news is that is not as bad as we all think and will get sorted.

I actually forgot what I was gonna say, but another thing is people talk about 'unsustainable' gains but hasn't anyone heard of inflation? Some coins have built in gains like BCC of 8% per month and I think this is useful as a marketing tool to pay affiliates etc.....any currency can be minted at will even though it will devalue the price (obviously any built in gains can't last forever or the currency will become worthless). The point is that when payments are in cryptocurrency, it doesn't really matter what percentages are paid, the real thing you need to think about is whether the value for the coin will rise due to increasing demand or low supply etc. Stop thinking in terms of bank interest rates where inflation is controlled.

I think the minimum 0.25% daily interest isn't too bad (bonus for larger deposits only so probably 0.2% overall or less) as I'm sure they expect growth to exceed that at all times. What I've been trying to say for a while is that bitconnect ARE PROFITING and are not needing to go into any reserves to pay back investors who 'lend' as they profit a ton from it currently.
